Mean Creek

A group of kids trick a bully into coming on a trip with them so they can get him back with a prank. The plot is pretty straight forward but it is none the less a really good movie. I watched it years ago, saw that it appeared on netflix and wanted to see if it held up, it does.

A lovable gang of Hollywood hookers and midnight buskers team up with the cops to battle an egg-sucking necro-maniac who’s killing the ladies as they sell their wares. Angel (1984), think this was a RubberRat pick.

Sergei Paradjanov's hyper-allegorical The Color of Pomegranates (1968) formed from the imagery of Armenian troubadours.

Along with this 10 minute short Hagop Hovnatanian, which I liked much more:

Hey zoltanspawn....indeed it was. I love Angel's landlord Solly Mosler (the late/great Susan Tyrell). Hope you liked. :)

Apparently the saga continues, with Avenging Angels and Angels 3. I liked, but maybe not enough to venture further...at least first.

I have the triple pack but have not watched the other two (mostly due to a different actresses playing "Angel"). I'll let you know when I watch the others. I have the latest from Hammer Studios, "The Quiet Ones", to watch on blu ray this weekend.

Just finished a shitty advertisement from the Chinese empire Eating in Canton (2001). In spite of its transparent intent, it remained full of tempting glimpses of things like congee hotpot, cold sheep's face, donkey banquet, snakes' tripe soup and many other Guangzho specialities.

The medicinal properties of Cantonese cuisine were emphasized, and so I also learned that the chief problem of men is virility and that of women is beauty. So exotic!

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.

Eh, it was alright. Not overly bad, just not great or anything to write home about. The action was VERY stilted.

I guess I felt I had to renew my Gay Pass today...
