The latest gallup polls

This election season has a LONG way to go. They obviously picked a odd demographic to sample because that does not reflect any other recent polls.

Remember Gallup and all of the other organizations can make you think whatever they like by how they structure the calls and the questions and then display the data. Especially if it is close.

I agree with you that a republican President at this point would slow things down to a crawl for the family getting anymore equal with the breeders. I still think BHO has this election in the bag with the proper handling of an election year of course.

Of course stories of deception and cronyism will kill you all day. That is essentially what killed a Bush successor from going in after him.

Stories like this are being very convincingly wrapped up and sold to the american people although does anyone have any doubt that the same Treasury and FED would have convinced a Republican to bail out the wealthy?

Federal Reserve’s Secret Bailout Helped Banks Profit During Crisis

It looks like our national nightmare is coming to an end.

Less than 17 months to endure.

Then we can face a second term with Barack Obama knowing that the Republicans have again failed to provide the nation with a wise alternative to President Obama.

Sorry, having Rick Perry or Bachmann in office would be even worse, no question about it.

Never feel sorry when writing on Perry, and Bachmann for they are the sorry, and pitiful example that the Republicans are currently providing as an alternative to Obama.

Obama hasnt been the greatest president but for me he has done more than the moron before him and any one of the incompetent imbeciles running for the republican party will ever do.

15 months is a lifetime in political polling. Obama could win in a landslide in 2012. However, like one of Bill Clinton's spinners said, "It's the economy, stupid."

President Obama needs an upturn prior to summer '12

Not terribly surprising IMO

Obama is front and center - President at a time when the economy blows, unemployment is mad high, stock market is cratering, gas is $4 a gallon, housing sucks and our credit rating just got downgraded

i'm shocked romney doesn't poll better than +2 points

it can't get any worse for the pres IMO - and he's down 2 to romney? who no one is quite sure where he stands on most issues?

obama should be down 10 now

good news for obama IMO

ive said all along if the American people are dumb enough to elect a republican we deserve what we get. there aint no complaining about it, but we must face facts that big business does not like a progressive agenda - and will aid any republican successor in the white house to create the perception that republicans can create jobs.

People are too easily fooled to not realize there is a bigger picture here, and blaming Obama for not cleaning up a mess fast enough when he was able to do what countless presidents before him TRIED and FAILED to do, passing healthcare reform, we have only ourselves to blame for not supporting Obama.

democrats have to stand for something, and big monied interests are having their way with our democracy.

if Obama is such a bad president how did he pass healthcare reform?
How did he win in a landslide against a clinton and a mccain?

You assume that everyone here on JUB is a liberal & Democrat.

That isn't true.

Jackoroe, justapixel, jackspringer, chance1, and myself are just a sample of the conservatives and/or Republicans that are JUBers.

last i looked pres. obama is the big fundraising guy - so the whole money thing .....

is just not true

as for selling out to wall street - pres. obama has done a pretty good job of that - allowing them to keep bailout money and pay as bonuses

his healthcare reform bill is not very popular with the people - great concept i agree but ........... not a great reality

i appreciate your support for the pres - but he has not done a good job on most any fair barometer

and frankly expecting him to shine was the mistake

not so much his actions

he does not deserve another 4 years

he might get it

but he does not deserve it

as much as I hated Bush, I didn't suddenly feel like a disenfranchised second class citizen between 2000-2008.

I'm guessing that's only because you've never tasted being a first-class, equal citizen.

During Bush's tenure (in his first term), I had my equality fully recognized in every aspect of law, simply because I didn't live anywhere that Bush ruled. It is inconceivable that equality for gay people would ever be taken away; it would mean civil war. The idea of voting for a party, for whatever reason, that would undermine our equality, is so absurd as to be laughable. It is strange to watch people question that logic when they've never tasted equality.

healthcare reform not a great reality? perhaps im being too literal...but...fuck

....i would hate to be the guy who posted this about his boyfriend.

while the act may not help this couple now, it will when fully implemented.
people wont have to sit and worry around the dinner table about where they are going to go for help.

everyone is being covered, would you take that away?

saying healthcare reform is unpopular is like saying everyone loves our healthcare system. ask people who have no health insurance how that is working out for them.

you are right, expecting him to shine was a mistake, but i was never under any impression or false illusions about what was going to happen.

we should be thankful democrats had the opportunity to pass healthcare reform, a legacy Obama created that will last for centuries.

I do agree with chance and Obama should be doing worse in the polls but that speaks more about how bad the GOP nom pool currently is compared to Obama. Reckon I think Obama gets blamed wrongfully for a lot of the problems when Congress should be the people thrown out next election. The only real GOP nom I see stealing a lot of the independent voters from Obama is Paul as the Libertarian aspect confuses many people who can only think in black & white. You can laugh about him all you want but I do think Romney nor Perry has the ability to lead the GOP to victory.

The republicans WANTED a long protracted debate about healthcare to keep Obama from fixing anything else. Healthcare is needed but Obama should have been focused on job creation not debt creation... he could have saved debt creation for his second term... now he may not see a second term and his crowing achievement will be dismantled by an austere republican congress and President.

SO that is a fairly empty argument no matter how great the need.

To other post above about the regret and blaming the American people....
As far as complaining how ignorant the American people are for allowing this that or the other thing.... I believe the door is over there.

The people who fucked up at a high rate of speed will not be the republican party if they resume control of this government in 2012. It certainly isn't the american public who are bought and sold at auction with sound bite politics. Nope. The people who screwed the pooch are an inept Democratic leadership that can not wipe their tears away long enough to prioritize.

Anything can change even a month before the election.

Unfortunately I gotta endure another 14 months of this two-party oligarchy shit compared to the approximately 6 weeks when I still lived in Australia.
