I did that once though the stump was lower and there was a glacier on one side of the lake. I freaked some people out by diving in since the water was pretty shallow.

That's crazy. I got told by a balloonist once that you never want the bottom of the basket to touch water because it will pick up weight fast and ,make it hard to climb.
Al - just FYI, the C.A.F. stands for the Commemorative Air Force; and, all of those aircraft might have been flown by one of their pilots. https://commemorativeairforce.org/No I believe that the marking for the Royal Canadian Air Force was a red inner circle with a blue outer circle. The star is American and the red dot was Japanese.
I never understood the reason to mark the plane other than for friendly fire but gunners were always trained on knowing the silhouette of all planes. My neighbor growing up who fought for England during WW2 was a gunner and told me stories about it.
An old wooden-structure roller coaster, I presume.
