OMG, Dubya, don't even get me started.

I'll never forget that episode of Nightline that was intended to serve as a memorial for those who had died in the Middle East wars up to that point - all they did for the entire show, was display pics and read the names of the fallen heroes who died in that awful war. I'll also never forget the sleeper mini-scandal that errupted from that show - Baltimore-based Sinclair Broadcasting, which at the time owned 7 local ABC stations across the country...Sinclair had forbidden it's ABC stations from running that particular episode of Nightline. While not owned by Sinclair, our local ABC affiliate here in Dallas-Fort Worth had to use the limited commercial breaks for weather updates, as we did have a moderate threat for tornadic thunderstorms in the area that night, throughout the latenight hours, through both the late local news and Nightline's time slots. But interrupting for legitimate severe weather coverage - something that is journalistically newsworthy, and merits "need to know" status to the general public - that is one thing. Just unilaterally deciding, "We don't want our stations airing Nightline, because we believe ABC is simply using that Nightline episode as a political stunt," is quite another.

And let's not forget how Dubya damn near obliterated the economy.

And yet, just weeks ago here, when he was called up for jury duty, here in Dallas County, people were absolutely starstruck - "OMG, I went to jury duty with President Bush?!?!" People were so easily amused as to be beside themselves with awe, when they should have been foaming at the mouth at the very thought that this war criminal, this despot, still walks among us.

Supposed "Christians" like Scott Lively, and others who have gone beyond inflicting homophobia here in the States but sensing the tide is turning here against them hedged their bets and have worked overtime helping the Russians and those on the African continent oppress the LGBT communities there...including a few measures calling for death or lifetime imprisonment. The list mentioned here is of course without doubt, but these people who claim to follow God's law are merely enforcing their own hate, fear and bigotry in its place.
