The new Friday The 13th Movie

Apparently Padelicki never loses his shirt, or someone would have said by now. Guess I'll save my $10 on this flick. LOL
 
I want to see it really bad, but I want to watch the original first. I havn't been able to find anywhere though. :/
 
I just got back from the theatre and have to say I enjoyed this and I am a huge fan of the original series.

The first 5 minutes is the end of part 1 essentially... then the rest of the movie is a mixture of part 2 and 3 though not quite... it definitely takes on a slightly different tone... although some characters definitely have counterparts in some of the originals...

Overall I greatly enjoyed this version and it destroy the franchise. I thought the characters were great and yes unfortunately Jared keeps his shirt on through the entire movie. Travis however does have a sex scene but you don't get to see much.

And the dialogue is great... plenty of fun to be had whether you're a fan or not.

Wait what? You liked it but thought it destroyed the franchise? I'm pretty sure Jason Goes To Hell and Jason X did that
 
It's nice but same old same old nude girls but the guys are so freaking funny and Padelicki was quiet boring next to the other guys but nothing really impressive about it at all !!!

ooops total spelling error... I didn't think it destroyed the franchise... I'm sorry...

Plus I loved Jason X ...it was totally tongue in cheek and added a mu8ch needed spice up to the series.
 
Meh, I wouldn't say it was crap. It just fell short of what it could have been. I adored where he was going with Michael as a kid. The shit was amazing. The second half of the film was just way too rushed. We never got to get attached to anyone before the death count started goin crazy.
 
Gonna download this shit and check it out tomorr...errr...today.
 
I wanted to see it in theaters but you guys are making me want to just watch now online.

Yeah, but the reviews weren't very good for it. Halloween / horror junkies all went to see it... But still.

I, personally liked it, but there seemed to have been a lot more negative feelings towards it than positive.

I guess it depends on where you look I suppose because for me it's the opposite.

People I know praise it, everyone in our packed theater clapped at the end, and the reviews I've read have all pointed out it's shortcomings, yes, but overall found it to be a solid horror movie.

I searched online. It was like.. Blah in the reviews department. Not necessarily bad.. Just not good. And a few people in my showing walked out furious. *shrugs*

Can't wait for the sequel though.

it made almost thirty million in it's opening weekend. so, i am sure it grossed quite a bit more during it's theater run and dvd release. and those are just us numbers.
 
It made near 80 million I believe, so H2 is definitely warranted.

I enjoyed this. I just don't think it felt like Friday the 13th all that much. Making Jason smarter and more cunning is what changed the feel.
