Go Phillies?No Phillies!!!

My friend lives in South Jersey now ...die hard Yankee fan raised here in Jersey City. He's now not too far from Philadelphia, and virtually all the baseball fans he encounters there are rah rah Phillies fans.Guess the locality rules in determining team support, especially being in a state with no major league baseball team of its own.

Not that I'm as big a Yankee fan as a Mets one,but I'm NEVER going to root for the Phillies!

NEVER EVER

I have been a baseball fan almost as long as I have been alive and I have never hated a team as much as I do those fudermucking Phillies

My poor misguided Sonny and Sausy

While you continue and continue to wait for those Mets to win, I can enjoy yet a second year of winning bliss by the PHILLIES

It will be at least a PHILLIES and someone else world series game.

I LOATHE the Phillies with a passion!:twisted:And look forward to seeing the Phils PHLATTENED in the WS!(!)

Hell if we can't be in it,I would LURVE for those Yanks to freaking embarrassed.Of course,I am one of those who believe that will not happen though
Well, they did fall in extra innings today....if the Yanks wind up getting upset by the Angels, that crucial two run homer to tie the game at 3 that Andy Petitte gave up to Vladimir Guerrero would loom as the turning point.

Hope not,but the Angels definitely are reenergized and revitalized after ultimately winning,5-4.

Looooooong night of baseball yesterday. I’m not gonna write about that Phillies win, still have agida from it. Except to say, freakin Rollins

What the Fuck happened to the Yankees is another story, one that should not have happened. Giradi blew it and pretty much game the game away. One word, OVERMANAGED. Once Pettit came out if the game Giradi screwed around with pen making decisions that made no sense. The first HUH? came when he took the lefty Marte out and replaced him with, wait for it, ANOTHER LEFTY. Soooooooo why put Marte in to begin with?
But wait, Girardi had more wacky moves up his sleeve. David Robertson started the 11th inning and retired the first two batters on about 10 pitches. With Kendrick coming up to the plate, Girardi went with Aceves. WHY??
David Robertson had two outs and nobody on base and I guess Girardi does not know that Robertson is a better reliever than Aceves. Robinson needed just one more to retire the side. Why take him out???
We all know what happened next, Good grief, my Mom could have managed that game better

Oh, and by the way, take a look at this shot of A-Rod and Jetter from last night. Guess they were anxious to get back to the showers

Sonny, you bad boy,LOL!A great way of making lemonade out of a lemon, though!

It seems Girardi has as much of a blind spot regarding pitching decisions as Joe Torre does:##:....but at least Torre has four rings with the Yankees!

Aceves has been a weak link....Robertson has been way more productive and should have finished the inning.Sometimes managers think they should be paid by the decision.....sometimes knowing when to leave well enough alone is good managing strategy in itself.I tell you,Petitte giving up the two run homer to Vladimir Guerrero may still have been the key turning point of the series should Anaheim fight back to win,and every fortunate situation like putting in Aceves will just motivate the Angels further.

The Yanks lose this,Girardi may well not be back as the Yankees aren't in it to lose in the playoff rounds anymore. And the more stand offish Girardi does not emanate the warmth and good feelings that Joe Torre did.But this club has the talent to get into the WS,and good ole Joe G may have cost the club that opportunity yesterday.

I don't wanna talk about the Phils anymore!

But I wanna talk about the PHILLIES

Don't even think it!;)

Great win tonight by the Yankees,10-1!(!)

Alex Rodriguez is on fire, another clutch home run and two more hits...he's finally doing what such a great player like him is capable of.Relaxed, aggressive, confident, focused he wants it and it shows.

CC Sabathia....Wow.Another eight innings, only five hits and one run allowed. And doing it tonight with just 100 pitches....damn dominant yet economical. He isn't just a thrower, though he was still hitting 94mph with his last pitches. He is a master.

Com on babe you hadda know after seeing that I would have to post it. I saw it live and thought WTF and rewound and watched it again and again siad WTF I gotta post that on JUB. Another member saw the pic and made another post about it, good reactions there as well.

Girardi is very insecure, it's a big job and he will make mistakes. What I really hate is his arrogance, he seems always to have a chip n his shoulder, must be a pain in the ass to deal with. it's all about confidence which he has little of so he compensates by acting the way he does.
As to talking about the Phillis, well at least till if they play the Yankees in the series and the Yankees kick thier buts, then we can talk about it right? opps sorry scubs, there I go again !oops!

OK, I gotta vent here.
I have complained all yearlong JUB about the lousy umpiring that was going on. I also remember writing how I lived with it by thinking the good (wrong) calls we got erased the ones we did not get. But it is still a major problem in MLB in my opinion. Now come the payoffs and things were as bad as ever.
There was the second base umpire who messed up a call when Nick Swisher was caught leaning toward third and was supposedly picked off by Scott Kazmir.
In the same game the third base ump called that Swisher left the bag to soon after tagging up on a fly ball to center field. NOT!
That sac fly would have made it 4-0. Instead, it was ruled an eight-three-five inning-ending double play. Center field to first to third. We saw clearly that the ump wasn't even looking at Swisher's foot. He was staring directly into the outfield and had no way of knowing when the broke for home. Wait, it got worse, After Cano doubled and moved Posada over to third base, Swisher grounded out back to Angels' pitcher, then Posada broke for home on contact and Cano took off for third. Oliver threw home, but Posada headed back to the base, then Cano continued to third base. Posada touched the bag with his foot and then stepped off the base and into foul territory. Cano musta got confused or all befuddled and stopped several feet short of the base.
Then (are ya till following me here?) the Angels catcher who had chased Posada back down the line, tagged out Cano and then Posada. But neither of em was on the bag, but only Posada was called out.
Yeah I know umpiring mistakes are part of the game, and of course you can't use instant replay for every single disputed call, but they gotta get fundamental calls right.
This is the best-of-five or best-of-seven series, every call is important.
Something’s gotta be done.

Hey Sonny, please do not encourage ABS

The PHILLIES are gonna end it tonight. (!) (!)

And then on to the WS :gogirl:

^

Now, I put a curse on the Phillies....
