Damn, great diving catch off Bay's sinking liner in left by Craig!:grrr:Loved David Wright's reaction towards the second base umpire in getting the call if it was trapped or not and his quick scoot back to first after the out call was affirmed.

Congrats to Ubaldo Jiminez and the Colorado Rockies on the first no hitter in Rockies history,a 4-0 triumph over the Atlanta Braves in Atlanta tonight!..|

And lol,on to the 18th in a scoreless other kind of classic game!

With roles reversed as Tony La Russa brought in last night's hero,Felipe Lopez to pitch he faces Julio Valdes, who gave up the winning grand slam to Lopez last night....and finds a way to beat him again:grrr:,throwing Valdes out after Brendan Ryan made a errant throw from the hole(infield single for Valdes)after backing up the throw past Pujols and nailing him at second attempting to stretch it out. This game is crazy....and I must be too cause I love it!!!:gogirl:

MMMMM Skip Shumaker is friggin hawt!

MMMMM Skip Shumaker is friggin hawt!
That he be!:sex:As a Mets fan,I say that without the slightest trace of guilt!:p

Going into the 19th,nice DP turned by Jose Reyes! It was commented that this game has had everything in it so far but a run!

It is hard to watch Jason Bay in a Mets uniform.

It is hard to watch Jason Bay in a Mets uniform.
Why?You're a fan from his Boston or Pittsburgh days?

I shoulda known better than to think we had the game...Prince Albert hits that booming double over Pagan(Ludwick should never had tried to steal with Albert at bat...it was a close play but Blanco got the throw there in time and Castillo made a great sweep tag of Ludwick's knee)Yadier Molina getting that single off of K-Rod to knock in Albert....could have been the game winner had Ludwick held at first.

Btw,David Wright should never had attempted stealing on Yadier Molina in a tight situation like that earlier. You know David that Yadier loves the challenge of nailing runners, and gets an awful lot of them by a mile!;)

Now we're in the 20th inning....let's play all night!(!)

The best game of the year,so far in my opinion....the fun razzing sonny ,Abs and me would be having over this game if we were all in the same place!

Thank you Angel Pagan and Jose Reyes for ending this exhausting 20 inning affair Mets-Cards affair in the Mets favor!..|Sacrifice fly by Jose Reyes scoring Pagan who had singled earlier to give the Mets a 2-1 lead, and Mike Pelfrey gets his first career save to end the game!:D

Wow...6 hours and 53 minutes of a baseball fan's wet dream heaven...what a great battle in a class location..|Of course La Russa will be second, third and fourth guessed for letting pitchers bat in crucial bases loaded situations, but this kind of game is what baseball is made for.(!)See you guys from St. Loo on ESPN tomorrow night!:gogirl:

Kind of a crazy day for baseball on Saturday, Livan pitches a shutout, all 9 innings! U. Jimenez throws a no-no at the Braves, Lincecum throws shutout baseball, goes 3 for 4 with 3 RBI, and of course, the Mets-Cards 20 innning marathon where nobody could hit, even against fielders vice pitchers. THe best thing about baseball, you can always see something you've never seen before.

Yep,syam....Also Livan and Lincecum especially with his impressive turn as well at the plate...great performances too.Yesterday was an incredible day to be a baseball fan!..|

I was in Kansas City for business this weekend, but just got home a little bit ago. :)

To the sweet 16th at Busch we go!!!:gogirl:All those chances with the bases loaded and men on base must be driving Abs nuts!!!:p

oh my fucking god I was getting so pissed!!!! I was like are you effing kidding me that we load the bases THREE TIMES in extra innings and can't score a run?!? BOOOOO

OK, now I'm off to watch the game now

And yes, I agree, I also would like to lick Skip Schumaker's face!

Yeah,I'd be pissed if I was a Cards fan after last night, but that's the fun of baseball!

Thank you Colby and thank you Ryan.

Now can the Mets please sweep the Cubs? ;)

Adam Wainwright is a master.John Maine was pedestrian. We Mets fans get a lot of those efforts.:(Your guys deserved to beat us in the series....Ludwick,Rasmus are dangerous hitters and Holliday appeared to be starting to come out of his funk.Albert was his solid self,so with your guys pitching, and a more consistent offense the Redbirds are going to be dangerous!..|

Can't believe it was the first time Adam faced the Mets since that game in October 2006 the Mets and their fans would rather forget.:cry:His curveball isn't fair...and his ability to mix his outstanding bag of off speed pitches with his good moving fastball(which showed a lot more life as the game wore on)makes him a lethal weapon. The great thing about Adam was he wasn't rattled at all by that embarassing error overthrowing to first after Pagan singled in two, scoring the Mets third run.He got better and better after that and toyed with the Mets the rest of the way. They weren't able to knock him out early and paid for it.

I'd love to see the Mets sweep the Cubs but they scare me the way they're constituted right now.Maine still has a ways to go,goodness knows we can't trust Ollie Perez and is Mike Pelfrey for real or doing another cruel tease? We need to hope Johann Santana pitches lights out ball the rest of the way and someone steps up....or that the Mets will be able to land a solid starter by the trade deadline. The way things are going they need to act way before that to have a serious shot at contention.

The Mets as constituted vex me...the offense doesn't click yet,Reyes is terribly rusty out there at the plate(the proposal by Jerry Manuel to drop him to the third spot and get his timing back without the pressure at leadoff to push things may be indeed a very good one after all)and it isn't fair to look to hot starting Jeff Francouer as a potential savior.David Wright,Jason Bay and Jose Reyes have to get a groove going soon if the Mets have any chance to be taken seriously this season. We need the ability to manufacture runs,to take it to the opposition. We had Wainwright on the ropes in the second and allowed him to recover and dominate us.Like I said,Adam'as a master and you can never waste opportunities to knock him off his game difficult as that may be.

Can't wait to hear sonny's perspective on this wild rollercoaster of a weekend between the Mets and Cards!;)

See your Cards at CitiField in July!(!)

Wainwright was just dominant tonight. That throwing error was interesting because the first time I saw it I was like "Uhh, wtf Adam, you don't do that!"

But then they showed him slipping on...something in the batter's circle's chalk. It was strange.

And I agree - I was shocked that this was the first time Adam has faced the Mets since 2006! Best year ever! :p

It was a really great, entertaining series for sure!

Yea,saw when they showed the replay and Adam definitely did lose his footing.Things like that happen, but he showed just how great he is by shutting the Mets down cold the rest of the way for the complete game victory.Baseball can give us such thrills and such agita sometimes all in the same inning, that's why there's no better game!

As a Met fan who saw and appreciated the championship season of 1986,all razzing aside(and you know I live for the razzing!:p)I totally get just how much 2006 meant to you. It's really great for fans and city in general.Got great flashbacks whenever the skyline of St. Louis, particularly the Arch was shown...so glad I did make it a point to stop at Busch right after arriving for the meet and even though they were out of town I believe, breathe in the amazing history and achievement of the Cards.

looks like it's gonna be a tough road for the Red Sox this year.I say get rid of Ortiz now

You want always count on the Blowrioles to stop the bleeding for your Sox.

This is one of the few times I'll say this in 2010 or ever, so savor it Sausy/Sonny, but for this weekend it's: Let's go METS! :=D:

You gotta stick it to the Braves.

I'm pleasantly surprised by the Nats so far. *crosses fingers* Keep it going until Strasburg comes up.
Ok,it was rain shortened, only five innings but Mike Pelfrey helped complete the first Mets sweep of the season against the pitiful Braves...whatever light turned on in Mike Pelfrey's head all of a sudden...wow,just keep doing what you're doing!..|Can't believe how quickly he's recovered from the regression last year that seemed to reveal a deeply flawed, insecure pitcher who couldn't deal with adversity...he has really tough spots early in the game and he just goes out and gets the job done.He still needs to work a bit on command but his demeanor on the mound is so focused, confident and mentally tough it's like he wiped last season from his mind completely and reverted back to his impressive second half, near ace-like 2008.

Jon Niese did a similar great job Saturday despite some command difficulties, giving up only one run.

Strasbourg is going to be exciting, and definitely could help speed up the Nats rebuilding process. They are doing a surprisingly good job treading water right now,and the way things are in Washington, that area needs SOMETHING to root for and believe in at last!(Baseball-wise historically as well as politically,I mean);)

Swept by the Orioles?????

REALLY!!!??????

Swept by the Orioles?????

REALLY!!!??????

Yeah, that one hurts ;)

Cards finish up a 6-1 home stand by sweeping a four game series vs. the Braves and take two of thee from the Reds! woot!

Now it's off to deal with the Phillies and their fans that throw batteries at other players

Git those Phillies!!!:grrr:I'm a believer the Mets will rise above their tough weekend losing two out of three badly(especially tonight,on Eastern,er...I mean ESPN Sunday national broadcast, with their ace Johann Santana being smacked like a pinata)!Ouch,I mean OUCH!:cry:But I hate,as in SEETHING hate, watching the Phils get their smug back and pound the ball like this.:mad:I want them to see Red in the next few days,as seeing your Cards flip the redbird to Philly!..|

All better now!:D
