The Official ADELE mega-thread

Adele & Christina Aguilera Hang in L.A.
It was a collision of diva power, as Christina Aguilera and Adele spent time together backstage at Adele's show at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles last night. "'Someone Like You' is my favorite! Beautiful to see all her fans sing it tonight! ;-) love u Adele," Christina tweeted along with two photos of the women. British singer-songwriter Talay Riley recently revealed that Christina has listed Adele's latest disc as an inspiration for her upcoming album. "She [Aguilera] wants this album to be the one which touches people and reflects all the personal experiences she's been through in the last few years," Riley told U.K.'s the Daily Star, adding the "Bionic" singer "sees Adele as her new inspiration." Wow...just WOW!

I loved her performance at the MTV awards. She once again showed the world what true talent is all about.

Adele: "I Puke Quite a Lot Before Going on Stage"

Adele's second album 21 is set to become of the bestselling and most acclaimed of this year, and she's moved audiences to tears with soul-searing renditions of songs like "Someone Like You," but the British soul superstar still battles major stage fright.

"I puke quite a lot before going on stage," Adele, 22, tells British Vogue in its October issue -- gracing its cover with a stunning closeup shot. "Though never actually on stage," the Grammy winner clarifies. But the pre-show puke guarantees a great performance, she says.

"But then, I sh*t myself before everything...The bigger the freak-out, the more I enjoy the show!"

One thing the curvy star doesn't get caught up in: Hollywood's obsession with diets and getting thing. "I've seen people where it rules their lives, who want to be thinner or have bigger boobs, and how it wears them down," she tells Vogue. "And I don't want that in my life...I have [body] insecurities, of course, but I don’t hang out with anyone who points them out to me."

Right now, British star is single. "I do get massively distracted when I've got someone in my life, which I can't afford to do right now," she explains. "Besides, no one treats me as well as I do."

But, one day, if the right guy comes along, she's not opposed to becoming a mom -- to little boys, that is.

"I've always got on better with boys. Most of my friends are boys," Adele admits. "Like, if I have children, I want five boys. Boys love their mothers whereas girls can be so mean to each other."

The October issue of British Vogue hits stands on Thursday.

I have "Set fire to the Rain" by Adele on a loop......thanxs to the trailer for the new show Ringer...lol

I'm afraid that I won't like her third album cuz I don't think it could live up to 21

Ugh I hate when the DJs remix songs from Adele. I don't know why but its sounds kinda wrong:confused:

Holy Shit!!! Adele has both the 2nd and 25th spot on the Billboard Top 200 ;)

Adele - Someone Like You

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLQl3WQQoQ0[/ame]

She's so pretty. And has an amazing voice.

On principle, I dislike girls (or boys) who are as needy as that, but... wow. Her voice is just amazing.

Set Fire to the Rain/Someone Like You/Rolling in the Deep. My favourites, in order from most to least.

How many of you sing Adele with your cringey singing voices, then? xD. Not ashamed, I love singing Adele, especially Someone Like You. Especially if I'm out and it comes on in a club.

'....I WISH NOTHING BUT THE BEST, FOR YOUUUUUUUUUU!'

Adele Forced To Cancel U.S. Tour Dates Due To Illness

Adele has been forced to cancel her upcoming 10 city sold-out tour of the U.S. due to a haemorrhage into her vocal chord. Vocal chord issues forced the British singer to postpone dates earlier this year as well. Adele has just wrapped up touring around the UK and was preparing to kick off her US tour on October 7 in Atlantic City, NJ when her illness reappeared (see below for full list of cancelled US tour dates). Renowned for her powerful live vocal performances, Adele has been advised by doctors that she’ll need an extended rest period in order to begin to recuperate properly. Further details to follow regarding these cancelled dates. Refunds may be obtained at point of purchase. Adele recently posted the following on her site about the cancellations:

“singing is literally my life, its my hobbie, my love, my freedom and now my job. I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or i risk damaging my voice forever. i have great confidence in believing you know how much this upsets me, how seriously i take it and how truly devastated and annoyed i am by this. wanting to do something so bad and not being able to is the most frustrating thing as im sure you know! my voice is weak and i need to build it back up. I’m gonna be starting up vocal rehab as soon as, and start building my over all stamina in my voice, body and mind. i will be back and im gonna smash the ball out the park once im touring again. i apologise from the bottom of my heart, sincerely i do. i know its not only disappointing because of the show, but its plane tickets, hotel bookings, birthdays, anniversaries and time wasted. but please have faith in me that this is the only thing i can do to make sure i can always sing and always make music for you to the best of my ability. truly yours and yours only forever, adele xx”

Adele - Adele Writes Bond Theme

Adele has finished writing her James Bond theme song, and will head to the studio soon to record it.

The 'Someone Like You' singer is preparing to go into the studio to record the track, which she wrote during a recent week off touring, and will then submit it for the next spy adventure which is currently being filmed.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Adele is the obvious choice to record the next Bond theme. The last few songs for the spy movies have hardly set the charts alight. After her success this year filmmakers know the song is almost guaranteed to be a huge hit."

Adele is going into the studio with producer Paul Epworth, who has previously worked with Plan B, Florence and the Machine and Cee Lo Green.

Several music legends have previously recorded Bond themes including Sir Paul McCartney, Dame Shirley Bassey, Duran Duran, Madonna, Tom Jones and more recently Chris Cornell and a duet by Jack White and Alicia Keys. In many cases the tracks are based around the film's title, but the latest Bond project is still only publicly known as 'Bond 23'.

The film will see Daniel Craig reprise his role as 007, while Sam Mendes is directing. Rhys Ifans, Ralph Fiennes and Javier Bardem have all been linked to the movie. And Daniel - returning for his third outing as the British spy, after 'Casino Royale' and 'Quantum of Solace' - is excited about how it is currently shaping up.

He recently said: "We've got a great script this time. I'm as excited about this script as I was about the 'Casino Royale' script. I think in Sam we've got the perfect director. The cast is coming together now. I can't wait to get going with it."

The film is expected to be released in October 2012.

Adele get better already!!! I want to see you kill it at the Grammys :)

Not if but when Adele wins Album, Record and Song of the Year at this year's Grammy awards, she will become only the second artist in Grammy history to win all top 4 awards (she won Best New Artist in 2008).

Hilariously, the only other person to do this was Christopher Cross (yeah, you read that right) and he did it all in the same year too!

Adele's '21' Hits 15th Week at No. 1

Adele's "21" album hangs in for a whopping 15th week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 124,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan (down 14%). It's the only title to move over 100,000 this week, as the No. 2 set -- Drake's "Take Care" -- shifts 42,000 (down 41%).

The last album to spend more weeks at No. 1 was the soundtrack to "Titanic," which claimed 16 frames atop the list in 1998. Considering the scant number of albums that were released this week, "21" will likely nab a sweet 16th week at No. 1.

Adele Officially Confirmed for Grammys Performance

After weeks of speculation, it has finally been announced that Adele will be performing at the 54th annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 12, marking her first live performance since undergoing vocal surgery last year.

"I'm immensely proud to have been asked to perform at this year's GRAMMY Awards," said Adele in a statement. "It's an absolute honor to be included in such a night, and for it to be my first performance in months is very exciting and of course nerve-racking, but what a way to get back into it all."

The "Rolling In The Deep" songstress joins previously-announced performers Jason Aldean, Kelly Clarkson, Glen Campbell, The Band Perry, Blake Shelton, Coldplay, Rihanna, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Paul McCartney, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift. LL Cool J is signed on to host.

Earlier today (Jan. 31), Adele tweeted about her upcoming performance. "Ima be, Ima be singing at the Grammys. It's been so long I started to forget I was a singer! I can't wait, speak soon xx," she wrote.

The two-time Grammy winner is nominated for six awards this year, including Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year.

The Grammy Awards take place at the Staples Center in L.A. and air on Feb. 12 from 8-11:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on CBS.
