The Official "Big Brother 12" Discussion Thread!

Looks like clips from old seasons to me. Isn't that Nataskank from last year who jumps up and says "YES!"?

yeah the in house stuff is from past seasons...but the random blonde surfer guy...and the people in the pool...they are strangers to us...lol

From CBS Tweet.
11 reporters are "Houseguest for a Day"...experiencing life inside the new Big Brother house. Game on! BB premieres July 8
So today was media day. We should be getting pictures/videos of the new house within the next 10 - 12 days. And information about the new cast after that. Can't wait! :)

Also, this was posted by a regular member at All About Big Brother.
I heard rumors about a very large cast ~ 20. Speculation about first major challenge will weed out the 20 to a normal number of 12-14. This might have some merit, as one of the Alison Grodner interview said something about first weeks being "grueling"....and I doubt she was talking about livefeed watchers LOL.

Salemite, what does it mean that Janelle had joined the Big Brother 12 Team? Do you mean she's actually appearing on the show? As a one episode stint I assume?

No. She'll be working with RealPlayer SuperPass.

^^ Ah thanks for the clarification!

Aratron, Janelle's married?? To who? Good for her!

So... apparently transgender hopeful Jessica Dimon (pictured below with Ronnie) went to a BB12 casting call earlier this year and she just posted the following on her Facebook:
"I am not sure what i can say..But what i will say is i almost made it on a tvshow. I was a simi finalest and i didnt make the final cut. Thats all i can say..Got the call today so pretty upset and broken.."
I don't think she would've made it this far in the casting process if they weren't seriously considering putting her (or another transgender person) on the show. Each year they look for certain "types," and Allison Grodner did say we'll see people with more diverse backgrounds than ever before on the show this year.

Could this be the season that we finally get a transgender houseguest?

I think she would annoy me with all the yapping about God and basketball, but I'd certainly enjoy making fun of her. Something about foul-mouthed bitches who preach about God in between their boozing and sexing really amuses me.

Then again, my first impressions always seem to be wrong so I'd probably end up loving her, LoL. I can look at someone pre-show and think, "Jesus! Why did they cast this pathetic excuse for a human being? I hate them!" And by week 2, I find myself loving all the people I hated pre-show and hating all the people I loved pre-show, LoL. It's strange. That seems to happen every year. Very rarely are my first impressions accurate -- especially when it comes to people with strong personalities.

I thought I would hate Janelle -- loved her.

I thought I would love Daniele Donato -- hated her.

I thought I would love Dick Donato -- hated him.

I thought I would love Amber -- hated her.

I thought I would love Dustin -- hated him.

I thought I would hate Jessica -- loved her.

I thought I would love Chelsia -- hated her.

I thought I would love Joshuah -- hated him.

I thought I would hate Dan Gheesling -- loved him.

I thought I would hate Memphis -- loved him.

I thought I would love Jerry -- hated him.

I thought I would hate Laura -- loved her.

I thought I would love Chima -- hated her.

I thought I would love Lydia -- hated her.

I thought I would hate Casey -- loved him.

I thought I would love Natalie -- HATED her.

I thought I would love Ronnie -- HATED him.

The list goes on.

lol I agree with all these!! Why does it always seem that the gay or bi people they choose end up being the antagonists? Hopefully they pick some likable non-stereotype types this year!

It's not impossible but I doubt they'd put a transgendered houseguest in the house. It took The Real World like what 25 seasons to have a transgendered castmate and the only other show I can remember that's had one is "I Want To Work For Diddy." I don't know if the most traditional of the major networks is ready to do something so progressive during primetime, even if it is for summer programming. Moreover I hope they haven't. I think it's very very important that the first transgendered person on a major network reality show really needs to be someone who is classy, intelligent, and relatable. That doesn't sound like BB's casting criteria.

Big Brother 12 House Details Revealed!

Big Brother had the media day last week and they seem to give a wink and a nod to the folks and let them leak out details of what the house looks like.

One of those folks usually posts in very fine details what he/she has seen inside the house and it happened again this year. So here is some of what they revealed. Nothing 'shocking' of course - it is after all the same house as it has been since season 6 - but some folks do enjoy knowing the theme. There is at least one detail that seems a bit odd and perhaps might bring a new twist to the game - we'll see (read on!)

Allison had already hinted that the theme this year was going to be a summer camp/beach theme and indeed it sounds like it is very heavy on the "beach" feel.

The backyard has lost the pool table and a foosball table is there in its place - which seems to me to NOT be a good thing as it is a much less relaxing game and I doubt we will see much plotting over a game of foosball whereas TONS of scheming has gone on around the pool table the last couple of years. Also in the backyard is a volleyball net - again - a fun game as a group - but not something that lends itself to two people playing leisurely.

Inside at the kitchen the look is that of a big cabin. Without seeing it - it brings to mind season 9 when the theme was a bit “wintery” since it was on during the writer's strike.

We have a fish tank again - in its usual location between the kitchen and living room filled with tropical fish.

In the living room as was reported last week - there is a big screen with crashing waves near the couches. This area keeps with the beach theme.

The first floor bedrooms have apparently gone through the biggest remodel. There are now only two instead of three. Without having seen it I am guessing that what was originally the "Gold" (hidden) bedroom in season six has changed in size and the other two have been combined (since the wall between those two was thin and had no cameras). Not sure I like this either as it makes one less place for the HGs to sneak away to and scheme.

Theme in the smaller bedroom is a beach and in the larger is a cabin complete with bunk beds which we haven't seen since the first season of Big Brother.

Upstairs sounds perhaps like a boardwalk theme - with a gazebo where the chess board/couch has been in the most recent seasons. The boardwalk theme is even stronger in the HoH room where it sounds like it is set up like a Fun House you might see while visiting a seaside resort. Included in the HoH room are wacky mirrors, a fortune teller's booth and a spider is back in this room (spiders were in the BB8 hose) in a large tank - apparently replacing the fish tank that was our Fish Cam for season 11.

The downstairs bathroom apparently has an 'under the sea' feeling with shells for sinks, and blue lava lamps casting a blue glow along with metallic walls that probably are intended to reflect the light around a bit (but my guess is we won't notice that effect with the bright lighting needed for the cameras).

The room that I think may indicate a twist (or I may be completely wrong about) is the original 'workout' room which was a 'spa' room and most recently a ‘recycle’ room with the bikes and a big couch/bed in it.

Described as looking like a "funeral parlor,” when visited by the media folks the room contained an open casket and lots of flowers. What the heck can be read into that I don't know. There was also an empty picture frame which said 'rest in peace' in the room - that makes me think of evicted HGs but I really can't see how having their picture in there or putting them in a casket would play into the game. Also with the rest of house having a fun beach/summer camp theme - the funeral feeling just seems to be a real downer.

And there you have it - what do ya think?

Just saw this posted at Sucks.

I was a finalist (just got notified the other day that I didn’t make it into the house) and I can describe a few of the people I saw at the Sheraton Gateway LAX hotel. I saw one Jewish kid wearing a yamaka type hat, a rock n’ roll guy with some tats, a really fat black girl, another older out-of-shape woman rocker type with tats up and down her left arm, a good looking black guy with dreads/braids that he kept up in a bandana, and then your pluthera of generic in-shape beautiful people types who were black and white. I don’t know any of their names because we weren’t allowed to speak to each other but I could see them by the pool from my room and from different appointments I attended. So basically you are right in that the house will once again be populated with beautiful with a couple of regular folks tossed in for good measure.

No clue if this is legit or not, but "CornerOffice" is on Twitter. For every 100 people who follow him/her, he/she will post a clue about the new season.

That's part of the Three's Company theme.

Maybe there will be three nominees this season instead of the usual two.
One power is changing, BIG TIME.
Well... there's only two powers: HOH and POV. If POV is changing, perhaps the winner gets to select the replacement nominee instead of the HOH. If HOH is changing, uh... I have no clue.
