JT was such a reassuring presence during this period of national tragedy. Her beauty, her grace and her talent made it possible for me to weather that storm. She even added some levity when she changed the lyrics of "Get Down Goblin" to "Get Down Osama."

At the end of her triumphant concert, she was joined by Ray Charles for a stirring rendition of "America the Beautiful." There was not a dry eye in the house.
