Re: Totally not cool what Katy Perry did.

Try this:

I'll raise your girl kissing with this: ;)

I hope you hang yourself with your H&M scarf
While jacking off listening to Mozart
You bitch and moan about LA
Wishing you were in the rain reading Hemingway
You don't eat meat
And drive electrical cars
You're so indie rock it's almost an art
You need SPF 45 just to stay alive

You're so gay and you don't even like boys

Re: Totally not cool what Katy Perry did.

Kissing cute young guys on stage seems to be a part of her shtick:

Re: Totally not cool what Katy Perry did.

It is a shame when intimacy is just a cheap gag....but she didn't really force him, unless he thought she still has some kind of power over him.

Katy apparently needs to get laid and laid hard.

yeah I guess Russel brand, Orlando Bloom , John Mayer etc etc etc--were not enough to get her vagina wet---

Re: Totally not cool what Katy Perry did.

Kidding aside, Katy Perry is a very talented tunesmith. She, Sia and Ryan Tedder write a surprising number of the pop songs that are on the charts today.

She's also beautiful and she works on coming across as "likeable".

She also played a part in bringing us nude pictures of Orlando Bloom.

Her latest album sucks and it's a rare misstep in a pretty impressive career. And she's also overexposed with judging in addition to everything else she's doing.

Ahhhh...OK...I heard the kiss a girl song before but didn't know who sang it.

I watched all the videos you guys posted and read about her too...she seems like a great person...but I don't like her music very much and her performance style is OK but not really anything I would pay much attention to.

I really didn't like Madonna at all...or Donna Summer....or Whitney Houston except for a few things...and I wouldn't recognize a single song she sang but I hate Britney Spears.....and the reason why with all of them...overexposed. Same with Beyonce....if I have to hear about you 24/7 in the media...chances are I won't like you too much. I have heard Katy Perry's name a zillion times without knowing anything about her so I think I have a resistance to her already...

After reading about her...I do like her support for the GLBT community though...and since she got the HRC Award..she is OK in my eyes... as a person anyway..|

Thanks for showing me the videos..| Now I can pretend I am not that old:lol:

Re: Totally not cool what Katy Perry did.

My reply not really on topic, but you brought up some interesting points.

Yes, for me even the B-52's, The Cars, etc. are more-or-less "new" artists...and I don't even KNOW much about some such as Celine Dion.

My roommate showed me some fun 90s dance music the other day; have you heard of Pizzicato Five? "Twiggy Twiggy" is a hoot.

Yeah, there's live music on TV (or YouTube, DVD, various media)...and then there's live music IN PERSON. I almost entirely eschew live music that comes to me via media, but can heartily enjoy and embrace precisely the same live performances if I'm there in person.

One notable recent exception was the Grateful Dead reunion (such as was possible) last year that I watched at an attic party in Michigan on live TV; now THAT was definitely a marvelous show. But, again, it was a SHARED EXPERIENCE, just as a live concert is when going there in person.

I just heard a "brand new" cut from Prima Donna the other night that I liked, too - but first one has to find a source that actually plays "the cool stuff" instead of the big hits which are often swill.

I actually do listen to some new music..I just don't know what it is....

Besides smooth jazz...I like hardcore head banging garage rock bands.....LOL...go figure....

I listen to a station in Santa Cruz that plays that on Sundays...I like it...I never change the channel when it's on...

I think what I like about jazz and indie garage rock bands...neither have much commercial appeal and no damn publicist so they are forced on me....and so I can enjoy them without the hype...

I listened to the Pizzicato Five....Never heard them in the 90s...made me smile...

I am usually OK with live music except sometimes it backfires....

Last time I saw Gladys Knight...I walked away much less of a fan....I didn't really like her at all...but years before that I loved her...

I am thinking about seeing Starship next month...I don't have to go far...and I was the only one I knew at the time who liked the album they did most people consider one of the worst Rock albums of all time....
