I like this song. It's the only song of hers I do like. It has a good message. It's not original, but it's certainly authentic. To me this is what music is all about. A pure, uplifting thing that raises the soul of the outcasts in society and those who need upliftment. It takes you to a higher place.

Yeah it's kinda cheesy but that's part of the charm, kind of making fun of itself a bit. And it is a cheesy, kinda 'cringey' human aw shucks thing to support gay rights, and other outcasts. But it's also the right thing to do.

Just heard/watched it for the first time. I'm really impressed!!!!

I'm not that old (yet), but growing up, I thought Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful" video was the most memorable music video that featured a gay kiss.

Katy Perry's video is pretty cool, though it does feel like it was inspired by Beautiful. Nevertheless, I'm happy that from the appearance of it, she's sending a positive message to Gays (and other people who feel different).

As far as the Alejandro video by Gaga, is it just "gay" or is it "pro-gay rights"?? I got the feeling that it was supposed to be a commentary on DADT, but all I got was some hot dudes in underwear and heels...

That's the same impression I got of GaGa's video. I mean, it may be a homage to "the gays," but I can't imagine a struggling young gay kid out there being inspired by a bunch of dudes in underwear and heels dancing and simulating sex with Lady GaGa.

I would argue this is the first single from her that has a potentially large reach. There aren't really any obnoxious lyrics, like her songs tend to be like, and it has a strong (if unoriginal) message about self-worth and being unique and proud. I feel it is probably her best single, music wise as well. The way the melody and strings flow up to the chorus is epic, this is the kind of song I'd love to lose my shit to and just dance like no one is looking.

The music video is a little cheesy, but like, in the good way. Sure, it looks like she is firing fireworks out of her guns, and the kid who runs toward his parents fighting seems to be saying "OH MY GOD, I'M ABOUT TO EXPLODE!", but as lame as it is, I really related to that gay kid looking lonely in the club full of people. I'm sure there are a lot of people who relate to the scenarios shown.

Thought I'd share because the fan who shows up in the second half of this video looks like the same girl at the pool in the video. I read somewhere about Katy getting her fans to act in the video, I think it's very nice.

I have very conflicted feelings about Katy Perry, I like her, BUT, I don't like how she's mouthed other artists in the past.... And there is only one Lady I want to see shoot sparks or anything else from her boobs, and it's NOT Katy Perry.

In my opinion, she has a very nice voice. The gay kiss was cute and hot, but not long enough. haha ;) Although it may feel a bit cheesy, the vid was pretty good I think. I dunno what else I would have expected in a video for that song.

I had the misfortune of hearing her latest album in its entirety yesterday. Truly dreadful. The nadir being the track Peacock; "I wanna see your peacock, cock, cock!" Infantile, sexualised nonsense. No wonder she married Russell Brand.

I don't mind that you like GaGa, but putting a bad performance by one artist up against a good one by another is not fair. Lady GaGa was terrible on X Factor last year too.
