Oh come on.

She's sent a record 5 songs to #1 on the Billboard hot 100 with this CD. The only other artist to do this was MJ. And she's the first woman to do this, ever.

And, she's stayed in the Billboard top 10 for 69 consecutive weeks now (also a record), and if Last Friday Night manages to hang on another week she'll be at 70 weeks. I don't think a one hit wonder can do that.

Gotta give Katy some credit for dominating radio for well over a year now. This year will probably go to Adele but Katy's done mighty well.

Of course it was killed to death at the American Idol auditions as we had to scream it out on top of our lungs like a thousand times!

2:17 - 2:19 is the kiss, but prior to that there are small snippets of the guy sitting alone in the party and then slowly getting up and walking to his interest before kissing him.

Talk about someone who picked all the right singles, but I don't know "The One That Got Away" as a single choice. I'm sure it'll blow up on radio because it's Katy Perry but "Hummingbird Heartbeat" would have been a much better choice.
 
I really did not get into her recent single "The One That Got Away". Its to slow for me :(

ahh, i would prefer if Katy Perry were a one-hit wonder. I kissed a girl was an amusing pop song, i don't like her other songs... Firework isn't that bad, but only for its message.
 
I love Katy for some reason, she's theatrical with class. I'm so over Lady Gaga and her illuminati ass, like we get it already.
 
Katy Perry, Russell Brand To Divorce

After 14 months of marriage, Katy Perry and Russell Brand are getting a divorce.

According to TMZ, Brand has filed for divorce in Los Angeles, citing "irreconcilable differences." The Associated Press has confirmed that the couple is splitting, with Brand announcing in a statement, "Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I'll always adore her and I know we'll remain friends."

Perry and Brand started dating in late 2009, with the "Get Him to the Greek" actor proposing over the New Year's weekend two years ago. The couple married on Oct. 23, 2010 -- two days before the singer's 26th birthday -- in a lavish ceremony in India.

Rumors of a possible split were flying over the Christmas weekend after the couple allegedly spent the holiday apart, and were both photographed without their wedding rings. Brand and Perry do not share any children.

Brand is best known for his role as Aldous Snow, the hard-partying rocker in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and "Get Him to the Greek"; last year, he released a soundtrack for the latter film as the fictional group Infant Sorrow.

Meanwhile, Perry is currently trying to make history with her "Teenage Dream" single "The One That Got Away," which sits at No. 3 on the current Hot 100. If the song reaches the top spot on the chart, "One" would be the sixth Hot 100 No. 1 single from "Teenage Dream," surpassing the record set by Michael Jackson's "Bad." On Dec. 10, she served as the host of "Saturday Night Live."

I'm sad about Katys divorce but happy that she is super close to breaking yet another music record(!)
 
I hope after the Grammys she will break the record once and for all :)

Is she re-releasing her album "Teenage Dream" the same day as The Queen:confused:
