FanofFiction are you so out of touch that you actually posted that response. It sure gives no credibility to anything you post that's music related.

I don't get it. He posted Madonnas' tour info on a Madonna thread for her fans so how is it not music related?

Roger Walters is the leader of Pink Floyd.

Madonna is high because of her catalog and ticket prices.

Anywho, Lady Gaga being low surprised me. Her tickets have rocketed in price from her other tour. Nosebleed shit tickets for the ACC in February here in Toronto start at an even $50.00. I can buy two Bon Jovi tickets for the price of one Lady Gaga ticket. Crazy.

I guess I apologize for not knowing a guy from a band I never really enjoyed? Not really no. :)

She needs to add more Canadian dates. She needs to come to Atlantic Canada. She'd sell out here too, so it wouldn't be like she's taking a loss by coming here. One big show in Moncton or Halifax would do it. Everyone from the region would go. Moncton has hosted some huge artists! Surely Madonna could at least consider it...

I'll see her live one day.

whats the total gross of this tour? Billboard listed the gross to cover 72 out of the 80 plus at 230 M

God love you, man. I love that you loved American Life. For me, it just wasn't one of her better albums. But it did have a few great tracks. Your review was great though. I love your insight.

There was a guy that used to review Madonna music videos on youtube. This would have been three years ago or more. He was pretty spot on with my opinions. But listening to other people ramble on about Madonna the way I do is so enlightening. If you ever decide to dissect her videos or more albums, I'd love to hear.

A League Of Their Own is on TV right now. Such a great movie and Madonna was fantastic in it.
"This Used To Be My Playground" is my favorite of M.'s ballads. It's wistful, sweeping, nostalgic, and simply gorgeous. :)

I am fascinated to see someone who unabashedly cares for that song, lol! I could never particularly stand "This Used To Be My Playground". She looks beautiful in the video no question (love the lighting and soft focus) but I find the song pretty threadbare - like there's not much musical "meat" there; that plodding bassline and gutless "soft-rock ballad" drums don't help it out much, and by the time we hit the 3 minute mark in your link with that string section solo thing (which sounds like it belongs in an entirely different track) I'm always shaking my head like "Oh my god, is this ever bad!", and it further jumps the shark with the "Used to beeeeeeee..." background vocals at 3:30. So I was intrigued to see you describe the elements that you liked about it. It also, to me, hasn't aged very well as a track - it really sounds locked into its era with that gentle synth-piano/keyboard thing which dominates its sound.

Thinking about "classic" Madonna ballads, give me the unabashed, heart-on-sleeve "Crazy For You" over "This Used To Be My Playground" any day! How could you not love it? With those retro 80s power-drums, straight-ahead bass line and accessorized in the arrangement/production with that oboe (Madonna's own suggestion) and often nonsensical backing vocals ("Bop, bop, bop, bop, ahhhh-ahhh") that seem to reflect back to older girl-group or Motown background vocal lines, I thought everything came together for that track. It's interesting to me that it is years older than "This Used To Be My Playground" but seems to hold up better - maybe a good melody is more timeless, and the arrangement definitely has those 80s touches (like that highly reverbed drum attack sound) but it's not overwhelmingly thick and textured like a lot of 80s songs were so the leaner production maybe helps it. Any 80s touches on it now sound retro-cool. :)

I love both Crazy for You and This Used to be My Playground (the former more than the latter), but let's be real, THE hit Madonna ballad is Live to Tell. ;)

Rain is so good! You know it! I may have also shed a tear during a listen or two.

Madonna is a bitch

She really thinks she's royalty or something.

Re: Madonna is a bitch

Hmmm... well 30 minutes into the interview and Madonna actually warmed up to the woman. I think she was being really defensive in the beginning.

Re: Madonna is a bitch

Perhaps Madonna didn't like being interviewed by a younger woman whose skirt was so short you could see her underwear.

Re: Madonna is a bitch

I laughed. I think Madonna was just bored to death with amateurish style and questions asked by the interviewer.

Re: Madonna is a bitch

She was actually still pretty back then. Now she looks absolutely horrible -- she looks like a middle-aged drag queen caricature of herself.
