My theory is proven.
Artists that hardly do anything anymore that did before.. don't count. If Aretha was on the top 40 radio and making hits stilll... then YES people would bash her. I do like her btw. She has albums still come out but they don't go anywhere and most of them you can't buy in stores anyway. I'm talking about older artists still trying to make it big as top 40 artists. The list you gave doesn't prove or disprove anything.

Pat Benatar is old and I LOVE her and I went to see her in Chicago a few years ago and people said isn't she old she really needs to retire now. YES any popular music icon that tries to keep going till they get old usually get shit for their AGE.

Your artists aren't in the media alot.. Madonna is. Those artists hardly do anything anymore in the big public eye. I can ask an 8 year old who Madonna is but not Aretha or BB King.

well we all have different tastes doesn't make different tastes good or bad. Like I said alot of alternative rock and metal doesn't work well with me. But I'm sure there is lots of talent that goes behind it as well as more power to its fans if it makes them happy

Yea cher also had some mental issues. When she and sonny divorced she attempted suicide twice. Anyone remember her warner Bros years from 1975-1977 that ended with the Allman And Woman album?
