Re: Madonna REVOLVER Leaked KICK ASS (Listen)

I can't understand a single word that either of them says... but yeah it'll definitely do well

Re: Madonna REVOLVER Leaked KICK ASS (Listen)

Don't be a tool.

Re: Madonna REVOLVER Leaked KICK ASS (Listen)

I must be getting old because it just sounded like a couple of robots squaking in a tree with a beat or two thrown in for good measure.

Re: Madonna REVOLVER Leaked KICK ASS (Listen)

I agree Madonna is not what she used to be up till American life.. (Her best record) but its still OK

Re: Madonna REVOLVER Leaked KICK ASS (Listen)

Its still a good song though.. she isnt what she once was.. i admit.

Lola is too fierce! I'm sure she will excel in anything she does in the future.

Did American Life DESTROY Madonna's Career?

You do not have to Like Madonna. But There is shit that is considered more garbage then the stuff Maddy puts out. (Lady Gaga, Britney, Akon, Etc.)

Madonna has always been known for popping out hits like a redneck woman popping out kids without birth control.

Look at Ray Of Light

Frozen Was a top 5 hit
Ray Of light top 5
Power of goodbye #13
Nothing Really matters top 10 worldwide
Substitute for love top 10 world wide
Little star top 20 in the UK
Sky Fits Heaven #1 US Billboard Dance

Music
American Pie top 20 (Was Cut from the USA Album.. but still made the top 20 here as a single alone)
Music #1
Don't tell me #7 and #1 world wide
What it feels like for a girl top 20 world wide and in the usa
Impressive instant #1 US Billboard Dance

American life was HUGE world wide. American life was a world wide #1 hit. She fed on the hatred towards Bush and the republican party. Americans didn't wanna hear the truth and when she spoke out against the evils of today's American dream and what we have become, people got pissed. So she left the nation and got so much shit for it. Her American Life album was a huge success around the world but a flop in its home country.

But Since American Life, It seems she has had HUGE hits world wide.. but they only seem to flop in the USA. Example, All 3 singles from Hard Candy Shot to #1 in Spain and stayed there for WEEKS. They were all big in the UK and Canada as well.. even Japan "Miles Away" was in the top 5 for a while.

Confessions was so huge.. but had only one hit in the usa and that being the lead single HUNG UP.

Why can't people let shit go?

Re: Did American Life DESTROY Madonna's Career?

I don't think it's her politics that has caused her music to not chart in the U.S.; it's her rmovement away from a certain sound that Americans still find pleasing and reassuring. A kind of R&B influenced disco vibe.

Re: Did American Life DESTROY Madonna's Career?

Yes, it totally destroyed her career. If you remember, she didn't put out another record after that and retired in her giant palace and--

Oh wait! That's not what happened at all! Silly me.

Why can't people let shit go?

Good question. Maybe if people would stop talking about it we would be getting somewhere.

Re: Did American Life DESTROY Madonna's Career?

I found the album pretty crappy. It wasn't the fact that she expressed her political opinions - it was the fact that she expressed them in some of the clumsiest lyrics of her career, and delivered them in an oddball rap/sing hybrid, with even more sterile backing than she got on the Music album.

"Die Another Day" was released far in advance of the album, and despite being the theme song for a Bond film, didn't exactly set the charts alight. (I can't have been the only one who said "Oh, come ON" when he first heard "Sigmund Freud, analyze THIS".) Yes, it went top ten. Briefly. But it didn't have much staying power. And no one can accuse that song of having "edgy" lyrics.

Did it destroy her career? No. But it was a misstep, and hastened her removal from the pop game.

Re: Did American Life DESTROY Madonna's Career?

I read some place a long time ago that the a celebrity's shelf life is 5 years. I totally believe that. Jlo? But Madonna goes on. She turned 40 during Ray of light. She had been famous since she was 26 when Like a virgin came out. She has a nice large fan base that will follow her. She's really not ground breaking anymore or dare I say relevant. But she's doing ok for 51 in a business that is for teens. Her tours are big money makers still. American life was a good CD. I didn't like it at the time but now it's one of my favorites. I think she's best with songs like Celebration and missed the mark with Revolver. Nothing has destroyed her career. The music industry has also changed. You have to take that into consideration. Who really listens to the radio anyway? People mainly listen to satellite or their ipods. I miss those old days though. Remember when an artist would put out four singles and four videos? It would usually be 3 faster songs and one ballad. Except Mariah, she did 3 slow songs and one fast. Nothing is as it was. There are so many more choices now. I use to have to wait for a song I liked to come out for what seemed like forever. Now I go to Itunes and there it is and within a minute I own it. You have to take so much into consideration that would contribute to your perceived down fall of Madonna.

Re: Did American Life DESTROY Madonna's Career?

Rapping about Pilates and lack of regret can only be art once. Longevity doesn't exist. She's all always perform until she's 65, she's always have her classics, but she'll only be able to create 1 good song a year as opposed to 7.

And Madonna in the early 80's is still the best Madonna.

Oh,how I miss those days!!..When the legends were respected and even they would have two to three real singles that were promoted off one CD...This is why I miss the 90's!!..

It was exciting back than and the 80's. I remember waiting for hours to catch a song on the radio or waiting for magazines to come out with her on the cover. I would run home from school to catch her video premiers and couldn't wait for the album, yes album, to come out. This instantaneous ability to get information and music has taken the thrill out of it. I'm glad I'm not growing up now. I was forced to venture out in the world to find music and information. Now you get daily pictures on websites and can actually contact a celebrity through myspace or facebook. Celebrities were much more mysterious than. That said I do LOVE Itunes. I'm always looking through Itunes and my library. I love making different playlists and putting them in my ipod. It reminds me when I use to make mix tapes, lol. I just picked up Madonna the Rolling Stone interviews. What a fun read! Took me back.

Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Cyndi Lauper, Boy George, Prince, Wham (George Michael), Paula Abdul, Phil Collins, etc.

You forgot Debbie Gibson and Tiffany. As much as we make fun of Americans, you're still able to take out intolerable bullshit.

Re: Did American Life DESTROY Madonna's Career?

The other Madonna is completely destitute and works on street-corners alongside meth-head transvestites. (The fact that her worst three minute song probably made her more money than I'll make within my lifetime is completely irrelevant. If I were Madonna, I'd fart in a balloon and have the thing auctioned).
