Madonna - Get Together (Monsieur Adi Remix)

Don't think of Monsieur Adi as just another remixer. The Italian-born, Paris-based producer is a true pop composer extraordinaire who creates beautifully-crafted soundscapes that he infuses with a sense of style and melancholy that sets him apart from others.

Point in case is his new remix of Madonna's 2005 "Get Together" that the pop queen originally created with Stuart Price. Adi rips it apart, slows down the rhythm track and restores its pieces to create a cohesive and grand sonic experience with a classic beauty that is simply electrifying. It's another piece of Adi magic. What do you think of Adi's remix?

Madonna will always be the Queen of MUSIC and not just pop...

If I were a "singer" I'd mention Whitney more too. Why not name drop the superior voice? Gaga is nuts and an egomaniac if she thinks her voice comes ANYWHERE near Whitney's! And it's safe not to mention Madonna too much... the imitation should never make too many obvious nods to the original.

Yea, I agree.

I just have to ask: Does anyone else absolutely adore that digital woodwind-type instrument used in 'The Power of Goodbye'?

It makes an appearance at :19 and 2:35 into the song! I am obsessed with it...and I think it takes the song into another realm of 'etheral-ness'. lol

I'm not especially obsessed (like you are! :) ) with that synth-woodwind sound in the track, but I do like it. In fact one thing I love about the whole "Ray of Light" album is William Orbit's use of synths - beautiful array of tone colors/timbres for synth sounds he designed for it, and the way he layers and weaves them together is brilliant - they bob and dip in and out. I love listening to the album on headphones for the detail and the left-right perspective/echoing fun he has at times.

Having heard some ordinary, boring or outright terrible examples of synthesizers misused or used cheesily or repetitively, I've always thought Orbit had an incredible sense of how to use them effectively. ..|

I'd just like to say that I think it's pretty sad when people try to pit Madonna and Lady Gaga. It's a bit childish to me.

If you claim that Madonna is The Queen then why does Gaga scare you so much? Why do you bring up Gaga so much? If you're a true Madonna fan then you would focus more on Madonna and not Gaga.

All this Madonna and Gaga bickering, the claws come out, you're ready to cut someone and they're probably high fiving each other right now.

BTW, I love them both the same.

Maybe if Gaga would stop "paying homage" to Madonna all the time. At first it was cute with Alejandro but now its just sad.

Madonna's legacy is so solid not even this could take away from it.

I just feel the need to restate my love for the song Voices. Sort of reminds of of the Catwoman theme that played in Batman Returns. It's so good.

Guy Oseary tweeted that M's going into the studio to start recording her new album next month! Whoo!

lol like Madonna needs advice from a company thats thinks Jersey Shore & The Hills is quality entertainment.

Heh! Yeah, they're hardly the music force they once were or any sort of epitome of entertainment complexity or taste (the phrase "consider the source" comes to mind), but their recommendations to Madonna in that link were solid! They basically said:

1) Stay away from "trendy" producers of the moment...

2) Dig back to truly progressive dance sounds and people making it that are happening today that are still a ways away from hitting the mainstream ("Vogue" was such a smash because she pushed the sound and dance style itself up from obscurity into the mainstream), and...

3) Write about meaningful themes. They're right in that "Like A Prayer" as an album still (unbelievably) holds up 20+ years later because its themes are personal, reflecting what was going on in her life, and something people can relate to - even if musically/stylistically some of it is dated, people overlook that because the songs are quality and relatable.

...Hard Candy was a fucking mess.

Yeah. I can't always connect with it, and sometimes can't make it through as a listen. I think some individual tracks sometimes work fine in a random-shuffle playlist situation, but the album doesn't really "gel" together very well IMHO.

POST 2000!!!

I wanted post 2000 to be here, for Madge.

Ps: what software would you guys recommend if I wanted to try remixing some stuff myself?

Madonna Starts Recording 12th Studio Album

Madonna has started work on the follow-up to 2008 album "Hard Candy," according to her manager, Guy Oseary.

"It's official.. Madonna's 1st day in the recording studio for the new album... Very exciting.. Happy 4th of july..." Oseary wrote on Twitter on Monday (July 4). On June 14, Oseary informed fans that the singer "goes into the recording studio next month to begin work on new album," but said that there is "nothing to report in regards to [a] tour."

Shortly after Oseary announced the news on Twitter, another veteran pop star, Kylie Minogue, retweeted the post with her own "Yaayyyy!!!" added on. Madonna responded to Minogue on Twitter through Oseary's account, writing, "Thanks for the love."

"Hard Candy," Madonna's 11th studio album, has sold 739,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan. The singer supported the full-length with her Sticky & Sweet world tour, which wrapped in September 2009; since then, Madge launched a string of Hard Candy Fitness Centers and teamed up with Rihanna to promote the Vita Coco brand of coconut water.
