^Agreed. There are a couple songs off Erotica that I enjoyed from the first listen but overall did not love the album. After a couple more listens I found myself loving the album. I own two copies of it now.

Happy Valentine's Day! I'm decorating our home in red, setting up candles, and laying down rose petals. Loading love songs on the ipod for tonight. What's your Madonna V-Day song?

Gwyneth who was (i think deliberately) blaring about her friendship with Beyonce (at about the time that it was rumoured she was on the downs with Madonna) must be shitting in her size - 0 dress when in the Oprah next chapter interview, B mentioned she looked to M for inspiration.

Not surprised ;)

Madonna has been named the biggest money maker in the music industry - with her world tour helping her take home almost $34.6m last year.

Billboard Magazine's annual list of 40 top money makers put the 54-year-old Material Girl top for the second time in five years.

It said she earned an estimated $32m - more than 90% of her revenue - from her 88-date MDNA tour, which was the biggest tour of 2012.

Madonna, who also led the list in 2008 due to her tour income, was the only woman in the top 10.

Taylor Swift, who took the top spot last year, fell to 15th place as she has not been touring recently.

im a bit confused here. M earned only 34.6 mill last year? what period did this cover? im sure she earned more than that from mdna tour alone. btw, what percentage does she get from her tours anyway?

34.6 million might be her net income from the tour, after paying the dancers, musicians, moving costs, stadium costs, etc. Touring ain't cheap.

MADONNA TO APPEAR WITH ANDERSON COOPER AT #GLAADAWARDS IN NYC, 3/16

Madonna will appear with journalist, author and talk show host Anderson Cooper on March 16 at the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York, presented nationally by Ketel One Vodka and Wells Fargo, GLAAD announced today. The Associated Press broke the story.

Cooper and Madonna are longtime friends who have both used their careers to raise support for LGBT people around the globe.

"Madonna has been a passionate spokesperson and longtime supporter of gay rights. She has embraced LGBT people around the world on many occasions," said GLAAD President Herndon Graddick. "From speaking out against bullying to raising support for marriage equality, Madonna has always been one of our community's strongest allies. We are honored to have her stand with GLAAD and Anderson Cooper."

GLAAD will honor Cooper with the Vito Russo Award at the New York event. The Vito Russo Award is presented to an openly lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender media professional who has made a significant difference in promoting equality. Previous honorees include Ricky Martin, Rosie O'Donnell, and Elton John. The Award takes its name from legendary HIV/AIDS activist Vito Russo, who was also one of GLAAD's founders.

"By sharing his own experiences as a gay man, Anderson has reminded millions of Americans that LGBT people are part of their everyday lives and an integral part of our cultural fabric," said GLAAD President Herndon Graddick. "He continues to raise the bar and set a new standard for journalists everywhere, and I'm proud to call him a friend."

Good Morning America anchors Lara Spencer, Josh Elliott, and Sam Champion will host the GLAAD Media Awards in New York, presented locally by Delta Air Lines. The GLAAD Media Awards are presented nationally by Ketel One and Wells Fargo.

The GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies will be held in New York on March 16, 2013 at the New York Marriott Marquis; in Los Angeles on April 20 at the JW Marriott; and in San Francisco on May 11 at the Hilton San Francisco - Union Square. Additional Special Honorees for each city will be announced in coming weeks.

The 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards are executive produced by Marc Honaker, Director of Creative Development at GLAAD, and by Josh Wood, founder and president of Josh Wood Productions. "I am very proud that my company is producing the GLAAD Media Awards this year alongside such great collaborators. I have always been a fan of the organization and the important work GLAAD is doing to make the world a better place for the LGBT community. The fight is not over in the United States, or globally, and I admire GLAAD for inspiring and changing opinions through media," said Wood.

Emmy Award winning production designer James Connelly will design this year's set across the three cities. Acclaimed producer and editor Brett Henrichsen will also contribute to this year's GLAAD Media Awards.

$34.6 mil is just her earnings through music. She probably made a lot more from her other business ventures, which Billboard doesn't cover.

FanofFiction is also right in saying that $34.6 mil is her cut. Her show has a huge production and a large staff that has to be paid as well.

So, I'm on vacation right now. My husband and I are staying at a hotel, going to a day spa, relaxing... when I get this frantic phone call from a friend saying that Madonna is sending cryptic messages to fans via her twitter and facebook accounts about a "secret project". Any idea what's going on?

Steven Klein has revealed he is doing a "secret project." There has been speculation as to whether or not Madonna is involved. She just posted a picture on her Instagram account with the hashtag "secret project."

Madonna discusses the Boy Scouts ban on gay members and presents the Vito Russo Award to Madonna. The GLAAD Media Awards recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and the issues that affect their lives.

I found Swept Away on DVD this morning at the Dollar Tree.

what a deal! :D

Lucky, I got mine for $3 :dead:

^ You were robbed! LOL

It's gonna be $7 for me :(

http://www.fishpond.com.au/Movies/Swept-Away-Madonna/5050582260601

But I guess it's still a pretty good deal since it's a UK copy coming all the way to Australia postage-free.

Edit: I've just noticed the US edition is rated R18 (UK is only 15) and got an extra four minutes.....to save the world perhaps?

I'll have to look into that.....

But seriously, I love that movie...and I hate that so many people go in hard on it with the criticism. Gonna watch it this evening. :D

I like it too (saw it on TV) but THOSE ARMS!

I think the criticism of S.A. is unfair - her acting is really good.....cause she's playing a rich bitch.

<OH NO HE DI'UNT!

I liked it as well, except the ending was so sad. :(

Yeah, I cried at the end.

Saw the GLAAD awards where Madonna dressed up as a quasi-boy scout.

I was pretty disappointed with her speech as she spent 97% of the time self-aggrandizing. While she spouted opposition on bullying and homophobia, it became apparent that her grasp of those issues were superficial. What made it worse was that it seemed her speech was a precursor to launching her MDNA concert DVD rather than introduce Anderson Cooper. Wish she spent less time self-pontificating. It would have been better if she chose to highlight her MDNA Nobody Knows Me video in a more concrete context then tying it up with Anderson's work, or the challenges for those who aspire to be recipients of the Vito Russo award or something.

While her self importance somehow worked during her send off to MJ during the MTV awards, in that speech, it somehow made sense as she concretely showed parallelisms between herself and MJ. And throughout the comparison, she often downplayed herself (shorter end of the stick) but later on wisely reminding people that what she had (childhood etc) turned out to be the better deal cast a respectful, humanizing and sympathetic last look at MJ.

Her GLAAD speech however was just straight out : it's the madonna show.

Referring back to 'Swept Away' for a mo.....I forgot to mention her accent - IT KEPT CHANGING, LOL.

Madonna's A Billionaire Now, Thanks To Record 'MDNA' Tour Earnings (REPORT)

Madonna's a billionaire now, according to a new report in the New York Post.

Her net worth jumped after her MDNA Tour brought in a whopping $305,158,363, making it the highest-grossing tour of 2012. That's not counting the $75 million in merch sales, nor does it include the $10 million in TV and DVD rights that came with the 88-stop jaunt around the globe.

The news comes amid a strong few months for the singer. Madonna made a bold statement at this year's GLAAD Awards, where she arrived to present Anderson Cooper with an award in full cub scout regalia. The costume was a comment on the Boy Scouts of America's gay ban, and drew the ire of the likes of Rick Perry.

Despite plenty of controversy and negative press, the singer continues to prove her staying power. In addition to the tour, "MDNA" notched a No. 1 Billboard debut (although sales tumbled dramatically in the following weeks). Madonna's 2012 Super Bowl halftime performance also drew in more viewers than Beyonce's did this past February.

According to Womens' Wear Daily, the 54-year-old singer's net worth had hovered around $700 million for some time.
