I dont know what people see in "side effects" or "cruise control" neither do anything for me. i think both would be bad singles, neither are really her style. She could get away with "migrate", but its not really up to par by t pain's standards & i think it has charted already. i have been listening to "OOC" more and more and i am starting to like it a lot more than i originally did. i dont really think its a top 50 song, but its playful and different from anything else shes done.

I would love to understand what your idea of success is if you think that Mariah Carey has "ruined" her potential.

I guess having more #1 hits than Elvis is definitely failing in life!

LMFAO! The oh so typical "why are you so negative" lamb talk. She did ruin her potential...weither you accept it or not is another matter but whatever. And since when does having #1's equate quality? That's what you lambs ALWAYS use to defend Mooriah...her sales and #1's records...perhaps because there's not much of substance behind those records.

She has some indeed good material in her repertoire but she's too dependent on commercial success due to her personal insecurities and need for approval of others. Rolling Stone once said that you can tell she's eager to experiment musically and try to evolve but her being dependent on commercial success stops her from truly blossoming and evolve to her dorment potential.

And if you look at the Top 20 hit artists right now, her voice still trumps 98% of them. She's still got potential. Very few artists can say they can make a hit 20 years into their career and sell millions.

LMFAO!!! What? The lipping queen? She WAS once of the best voices definately. But her voice is gone and lost beyong repair. A LOT of singers out there top Mariah's current vocal state in terms of vocal ability.

This quite possibly ranks in the Top 5 of my favorite Mariah Carey songs. I just love the song to no end. I really do.

I like the video. It kinds reminds me of an odd mixuture of her 'We Belong Together' and 'Breakdown' video but I like it.

Call me what you want but this is just a great song!

I LOVE this album. I bought it once I heard LOVIN' U Long TIME. It's such an amazing album! I feel the first track MIGRATE with T-Pain should really be the 5th single! What are your thoughts and feelings?

I'm also really pissed off that the album lost its influence on people. I think its a GREAT album! I feel radio stations are harsh on judging her. I really wish Island records would do some major promotion.

Probably the only decent song in the album. It's always nice to listen her voice when it's only accompanied by a piano. It does wonders to her vocal delivery and interpretational skills.

The rest of the album, for the VAST majority, it's WBT recycled.

I think this record was done very well. A little too much fine-tuning, but nonetheless, I love it. This album wasn't picked up as much, because the single choices were terrible. Releasing 'Bye Bye' for a summer song wasn't exactly the smartest choice. Would have been suited better 4th single release, which is Thanksgiving/Christmas time. THAT is what fucked everything up. Nobody wants to think negative thoughts while on vacation, or partying.

Here's what the singles were:

I Stay In Love

IF they wanted to guarantee another 'Emancipation,' statistically she should have released in this order:

Mariah "I'll Be Lovin' You Long Time" FLOP?!

Believe it or not.. I never used to own any Mariah Carey cds. I heard the third single from E=MC2 and made my bf turn around and said thats brilliant and ran to target and picked it up along with Emancipation, G Hits (2Disc) and Rainbow. Within a week i bought all her albums on Amazon.

This powerful track changed my view on Mariah. I play it endlessly on my turntable. I own the 45. I dont wanna wear out the cd nor the vinyl album of E=MC2.

I never buy vinyl records unless its amazing enough to make my personal hall of fame.. it already has.

But this great AMAZING track.. wtf? How could it flop so hard and so fast? It barely made any charts.. so low.. WHY?! This is the best song she's ever recorded

For the first time ever I agree with you.

I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time is a splendid track by Mariah. It dates back to some of her older hip-hop inspired tunes like "Dreamlover" and "Fantasy".

I feel it would have had much more success as a single if it was the leading one instead of "Touch My Body". E=MC2 lost a lot of steam and attention due to poor single choices like Touch My Body and Bye Bye.

I think touch my body was an ok choice for a first single. I think Lovin' U long time should've been second.. then third maybe Migrate. And then around time of the third single IM THAT CHICK should've been a promo club single. (Love the song but people just would not appreciate it... its disco)

THEN Side effects the 4th... then BYE BYE as the 4th.


I think the stuggling world economy is the result of poor sales for E=MC2. I am biting my lip when saying this because I love Madonna alot more and im stuggling to say this in my chair as i fidget my fingers like crazy.. but this was BETTER then Hard Candy. Probably the 2nd best of the entire decade. (American Life is the best.. to ME)
