imo, she annoys me, she seem to try to hard to be glamorous, and she blinks like 100 times per a min....but i havent really seen her for several years, when she was really popular, and had that movie, i dont kno anything about her recently

Since Celine Dion was mentioned here, I’ll say this that even though I have a distaste towards her music as much as I have for Mariah’s, I think Celine is adored more because she’s never pretended to be “girl-next-door”…she’s truly that way.
And I don’t think there’s any trademark in Mariah’s singing voice at all ‘cause I just think it's a combination of Minnie Riperton, Whitney Houston and R&B melisma, that she's using various patterns of R&B melisma that was already invented way before she even got signed and I think she's just subconsciously trying to imitate Minnie Riperton and Whitney Houston.

HA HA..... I actually heard her talking about that lyric.. which is actually... Me and Mariah... go back like babies with pacifiers.... They've known each other for a VERY long time.... both are on record saying... NO SEX... sorry.... try again....! And everyone keeps saying... "shes had opera training and could have been a classical singer... but isn't"... I NEVER SAID SHE WAS!!! Do we read these things are just see what we want???

I'm not a huge fan, but I do like Mariah. She is indeed, very talented...but I don't think she utilizes her talent to its full potential. Her musics tends to be very formulaic. From a business standpoint, that's great...but I think that she could do amazing things with her talent if she took more risks musically.
I'd have to say my favorite song is either "I Don't Wanna Cry" or "Emotions".
That's all.

Soilwork, you crack me up...but I think you're taking that line a little to seriously. It was nothing more than a lyrical play on words, with ODB just coming up with something that would somewhat rhyme with Mariah. MC may dress like a slut, but I don't think it's fair to call her one based on a lighthearted rhyme in a pop song.

1. Any thread dealing with a song, artist, movie, or actor - especially any that is entitled "What do you think about...?", is meant completely and solely to praise said item. No other opinion is welcome.
2. There is one, and only one, rationale for anyone not being a fan of said song, artist, movie or actor - jealousy.
Thus, you have two options.
1. Great voice, but a horrible attitude. After her divorce, I feel like she intentionally switched to being hyper-sexual just to prove something. She's volatile and messed up and her come back, while moderately enjoyable to listen to, still feels like she hasn't taken herself seriously as the artist she can be.
