The official 'The Avengers thread [merged]

finally got to see it and i loved it!!!! it was really fun, exciting and fresh. i really wish that that was a bit more character development between the characters but for what it was i can't complain. and heck, Chris Evans has never looked hotter too.

I’m pissed off. I just found out that there was two extra scenes in the credits. I only knew about the first so I missed the second one.

Why the fuck do they feel the need to hide scenes like this without telling people?

A Critic stated Avengers cost over $200 Million to make...It's made over $178-Million over-seas..We'll see if The States represent this weekend...

I was surprised Disney didnt release The Avengers on a Wednsday in the USA instead of Friday....

Didnt you see Thor? It was the same ending...First credits had a scene at the end then the Final Production credits have a final scene...You didnt notice people still in their seats while everyone was leaving? With all the Comic Geeks in the theatre I know if they don't move neither shoulld I....

I think Ed get a Raw-Deal from marvel but we don't know what really happened behind the scenes..At least he can say his Hulk was a HIT and Marvel & Ed benefited before they parted ways....We'll see what the writers have in store for Mark in Solo work...

Sorry did not mean to spoil anything on here, but I think everyone pretty much knew about the credit clips at that point..
As for Gladiator, i'm not an expert on every marvel character, but it from what I understand Gladiator does in fact have connections with both the Avengers and X-Men in different comics. It most like will be Thanos. Hey but think about this, He might not even be the villain for the next Avengers they might use him for the next Thor, which I heard will have more to with Thor and the universe rather then Earth itself.??

Why the fuck do moviegoers always need to rush out of the theater as soon as the credits start rolling? What is so important in their lives where they can't sit an relax a couple more minutes?
And all of the preceding movies leading to The Avengers had scenes after the credits.

1) Apparently it was Red Skull and Thanos. At least that's according to some fan reports. I have yet to see it myself, but will hopefully be seeing it tomorrow.

2) Gladiator has links to a number of super-groups, but usually because they come into conflict with the Shi'ar Empire on some level, and has appeared in a number of the major story lines (such as the Thanos Imperative and that little incident involving Reed Richards, Galactus, and a large bottle of Dos Equis) in that role. However, the group of heroes he tends to be involved with the most is the X-Men due to Lilandra's interest in Xavier. Yeahyeah, I'm a geek...

I am considering paying extra to watch it in an Imax cinema. Should be an interesting experience.

It's possible they need to rush out to tell people how good the movie is.

I saw it yesterday and I loved it. I have thought previously that the last two Marvel movies could be a bit more bold and The Avengers was exactly what I wanted. I can't wait for a sequel! I can't wait to see it again!

Two of the hottest guys on the planet are in this film (Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth) and this thread only has pics of Jeremy Renner? Blech. Do not get the appeal of that guy.

Everyone in my theatre that stayed got up and left after the first end credit scene. If people would have stayed I would have knew to stay longer. My theater was jamming the showings in though. They were getting us to leave so they could clean and show it again. The fuckers added 40 minutes of trailers and they only did a bit of cleaning before starting another showing. My theater may not have even shown the second scene.

As far as I know none of them had more than one. I stayed for the first. I didn’t know about the second.

Management was ushering us out as soon as the credits started. Those of us that stayed were clearly annoying the employees. As soon as the first extra scene was done management acted as if there was nothing else to see. Another showing was about to start.

trust me, the second credit scene, while funny isnt anything to be mad about, i forgot that it was there too and just came home and watched it on youtube.

and the ending is confirmed that it is thanos, which can be an interesting plot with the infinity gauntlet and the infinity watch maybe. that would have to be saved for an avengers 2, after iron man 3 which starts filming in a few months, along with thor 2, and captian america 2 is slated for a 2014 release. and possibly another hulk movie with ruffalo (he signed a 6 picture deal).

i read an interview with a producer and he said that for future movie they are going to 'james bond' the movie actors, like if robert downey decides after iron man 3 he doesnt want to do anymore and wants to rest, and his contract is up, they would just hire another actor and pretend like nothing ever happened. kind of what they did to this hulk, ed norton's hulk ended in exile, and they picked up where that left off.

really enjoyed the movie, the first half i couldnt enjoy because someone decided to bring their young ass kid probably 5 or 6 to the theater, and after about the first 30 mins the kid would not shut up for his life, finally after enough people said something, he left the theater with his kid. i hate kids lmao.

if that is Thanos at the end, the next Avengers movie will be awesome beyond belief. They should go crazy and do a DC/Marvel crossover.

Marvel's The AVENGERS made $200 million dollars and change to take the title for BIGGEST OPENING WEEKEND EVER

Wow just wow...So Disney has raked in over $400 Million in 2 weeks internationally....if it can hold out it's High ticket sells over the next month Avengers could make close to $1 Billion in the states alone...

I wonder if the Stars of Avengers signed a contract agreement that they get a percentage of the Box office take or did they just sign a Million dollar pay deal and called it a day? A-Listers like Will Smith, Johnny Dep & Keke Reeves take a pay check up front and a percentage of the box office take....

Run to this movie! Joss Whedon was the perfect man for the job. He's a fan of these characters so he did a good job portraying what I wanted to see in a super hero movie and this one featured seven--not an easy task. I loved everything about this movie only one slight gripe and that was the pace at one point slowed down a bit too much for my liking but there were so many other great things to rave and LOL moments that I can excuse it.

I don't get the folks saying that Black Widow shouldn't have been in the movie or how she didn't have much to do. I thought she had plenty to do and definitely did her part to save the day. And loved that she was able to take care of herself.

Acting: B+

I didn't even care that it was 2 hours 23 minutes because it was such a fun movie. The audience broke out into applause at the end. I saw it in 2D because my friend didn't want to see it in IMAX 3D so I think I'll give that a whirl for my second screening.

You know that credit clip might have nothing to do with the next avengers movie, it might about the next Thor, which i head will be about thor and the other galactic worlds.
I have a question! Its silly butl would it not have been cool if Spiderman would have made a quick appearance LOL..and it was Tobey and not Andrew in the spiderman get up? FUCKEN SONY LET SPIDERMAN become part of the Avengers! What other Avengers will start to show up in the up coming IM,CA,HuLK,Thor movies? Do u think Hawkeyes and BW will get their own movies? And why was War Machine not part of this Avengers?

The Avengers was FUCKING AMAZEBALLS! The acting, action, dialogue and direction was spot-on. Exceeded all my expectations. I was hoping the post credits reveal was going to be the Masters of Evil, but (SPOILER) was even better.

If they ever make a live action Justice League movie half as good as the Avengers, I will have a nerdgasm that will last a week and empregnate every fertile woman in a 10 mile radius.
