This is similar to what happened to Mariah Carey..Years ago she went to the Grammys with an armful of nominations..."One Sweet Day" was a Monster Hit and she took home NOTHING at the end of the night...
They made her Perform as well..
I think she vowed not to return after that...Then "Emancipation" came along years later and she won 3 more GRAMMYS..
Whitney's next project will get nominations..GRAMMY wanted to make a statement and they needed the Press to HYPE up this MAJOR "snub"...
If they ask Whitney to present she should turn them down...If they "save-face" and Honor her with the "Legend" award she should perform...

She has to show up, if not she'll look foolish. She needs it to keep record sales going and promote her tour.
Besides, I'm sure Clive and her label have inve$ted some much money on her they need to recoup it. If it's not in her contract i'm sure Uncle Clive will twist her arm to the point of breaking.

I thought for sure she would have had multiple grammy nominations. I don't know why she didn't get any, but maybe she burned too many people in the music industry. Others did reach out to her during her hard times and she turned her back on some of them.

Well Whitneys cd is still selling so thats all that matters. She has the top 3 highest selling album of the year worldwide and its already gone double platinum so both her and her label can laugh about this big snub all the way to bank.

I've read a number of articles that stated it was a "shocking" unexpected thing that Whitney didn't get any nominations after her VERY SUCCESSFUL, critically acclaimed, highly rated album and return to music. But Whitney is still proving the haters wrong. She already DEBUTED at #1 with a great strong number, has one of the top 3 best selling albums of the year worldwide, MDB was a #1 club hit and is still doing well on the R&B chart, and her tour is selling out quickly. All WITHOUT the need of a damn Grammy nomination.
YUP! Her album is still a huge success with or without a grammy nomination.

The album sucked Lady GaGa's balls, and the Grammys agree, REGARDLESS of being "critically acclaimed." A lot of the nominees had "critically acclaimed" albums, so that b.s. excuse is done. And sales doesn't equal content. And Grammys agree. GET OVER IT.

You guys remember what they did to India Arie? Her first album received 8 or 9 nominations and she went home with NOTHING...She took home 3 GRAMMYS with the 2nd album...
GRAMMY hurts itself when it nominates Artists multiple times then allows them to leave the Ceremony empty handed...
Most Artists MIGHT not show up with only 1 Nomination..But if you receive 5 to 8 nominations you're going to start ironing your Shirt & Pants..
It couldnt be me..I would do a straight-up Old-Dirty bastard or Kenye move...I'd take somebody Damn award for all my troubles...I show up with a Fresh-Fade, Starched slacks and I don't win SHIT....I don't think so...

Pretty much everything is true about this post except for it being permanent she can still get it back, but in time. When I heard her album it seriously sounded like she was struggling with her voice and she didn't sound the same. I was more sadden than disappointed, but I still love her music and I just hope that if she does end up making a new album that it will be a good one that will get a Grammy nomination.

I agree that she can definately get it back, and it sounds like she IS getting it back some judging by her recent live performances. She sang her new song "I LOOK TO YOU" in germany better than she did on the album version and she was holding notes I havent heard her hit in a LONG time.
