So apparently a source confirmed that Whitney DID RECORD SOME TRACKS WITH RODNEY JERKINS!!!

"I happen to be friends with rodney's program drummer and he and I were talking last night on the phone. He called me to tell me that Whitney Houston was on her way to the studio. She arrived about 10:30-11:00 pm to the studio. my friend confirmed for me that Whitney did go in the booth and she recorded two tracks, I asked if they were for a new studio album and he said Yes!!! So, Whitney is recording her album this summer. he said she sounded pretty good! So, if I get anymore details I will let you know! This news was just to exciting to keep to myself. Also, I didnt give my friends name because I dont want all of you guys bombarding him with 1000 questions. Once you all do that the information will stop. So, I hope you all appreciate the good news! Be blessed!"

Yessssssss. Whitney just needs to come back with another FIERCE/FIESTY song like INRBIO and bring the diva attitude with her and she'll be slaying again..

I saw her live. That wasn't that bad. I actually had a great moment.

What year or what era?

Re: Drug addict Whitney Houston returns to rehab AGAIN!!!

...and you think that criticizing/jeering/mocking/laughing at her for her addiction is the thing to do?

What goes around comes around two times.

Any addict who recognizes their addiction and voluntarily enters rehab deserves respect and support, not scorn. This ain't funny.

You are assuming she went into rehab voluntarily because the Press Release sent out by her people say so right?

If and that's still a BIG IF she's going to be a lesser character on a movie filled with real actors she was probably forced into rehab.

Drug addicts are a HUGE RISK. She's probably UNINSURABLE. If anyone is willing to take a leap of faith and cast her in a movie she better be clean. Her past behaviour could cost the production lots of $$$.

Re: Drug addict Whitney Houston returns to rehab AGAIN!!!

Such a shame that someone with so much talent destroyed her voice the way she has.

Re: Drug addict Whitney Houston returns to rehab AGAIN!!!

Whitney might as well continue with the drugs, her amazing voice is gone forever.

Yes, because we want to create another media frenzy about a persons' tragic death.

Re: Drug addict Whitney Houston returns to rehab AGAIN!!!

thats a helpful thought. she's a person that is fighting a terrible disease. would you tell her to quit cancer treatments because her voice is gone? addiction is no different than ANY other disease out there. it can be treated and people can live a normal productive life again. so she can't sing. she can act, manage, produce, direct or change careers all together. many addicts become addiction counselors or nurses. to tell someone to continue doing drugs because their career is over is kinda heartless if you ask me. we should be wishing her well. not a life of drugs and misery.

Steven.

Re: Drug addict Whitney Houston returns to rehab AGAIN!!!

She can do so many things but I still have no pity for her.
She had a talent millions of people could only dream of....and she destroyed it.

Jessie J Sings Whitney Houston’s ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’

jessiej.jpg

As many an artist would attest, it’s a text-book no-no to cover songs by the likes of Whitney Houston. However, British belter Jessie J played by her own rules when she covered the legend’s hit ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ on France’s Taratata recently.

Check out her must-see showing after the jump…

Granted it’s next to impossible to top Whitney in her heyday, J served up an exceptional performance. Beyond the raw power of her voice, she managed to keep the vocal distinctly ‘Jessie’. Indeed, with the scats, belts, and adblibs, J avoided karaoke territory; instead projecting her own ability and musical identity within the confines of the much loved song. An OTT explanation? Perhaps. A damn good performance? You already know…

Last nite on MTV Lady Gaga had a special documentary that aired and she mentioned WHITNEY quite a few times. Here's one of those mentions in da beginning of dis video...

Here's another part of the doc ( starts about 2:50) Gaga talking about her song 'Marry The Night' and how as if the song was Whitney Houston and Bruce Springsteen's child:

Lady Gaga 'Started To Cry' When She First Heard 'Marry The Night'

'Imagine if Bruce Springsteen had a baby with Whitney Houston — that's what it is,' she says of Fernando Garibay-produced Born This Way track.

Lady Gaga has been working with producer Fernando Garibay for years, with the first fruits of their labor being the Fame Monster deep cut "Dance in the Dark." But, as Lady Gaga put it in MTV's "Inside the Outside" documentary that premiered Thursday, the pair had yet to "conceive" a hit record when she began work on Born This Way.

That all changed when Gaga heard the church-bell-filled sounds Garibay had concocted while on the road for the Monster Ball Tour.

"He goes, 'Your show is a religion and your fans are a cult,' " Gaga recalled. "It's this epic music. It's just so big. And I started to cry. He said, 'What's wrong?' And I said, 'I can't believe that you hear me so big.' "

Gaga sat down, and lyrics for what would become the Born This Way track "Marry the Night" just started pouring out: "I'm gonna marry the night/ I won't give up on my life."

"It's like Whitney, but imagine if Bruce Springsteen had a baby with Whitney Houston — that's what it is," she said. "And that was it! We made a baby. Finally. After all that fornication, miserably long and tedious, Fernando and I finally conceived."

When MTV News sat down with Garibay, he told his side of the "Marry the Night" conception. "I just kind of got on the American leg of the tour — this was after Australia — and she goes, 'I want to write another song that can define where I'm at with this album and my life.' "

So Garibay listened again to their first collaboration, "Dance in the Dark," and tried to top that energy. "I remember being backstage and hearing the concert start, so I go out there and hear 'Dance in the Dark' open up the whole concert, and I wanted to outdo that feeling. I wanted to outdo that moment that opens up the show. I'm just that way."

Garibay did his thing while Gaga was onstage doing hers. "I go back to the studio bus; I'm just like working on parts, working on parts, and then, two hours later, she comes offstage, and she goes, 'Do you have something to play me?' " he said. "And I go, 'I do, actually. It's a little different, but I think you'll like it.'

"So I played her the instrumental for 'Marry the Night,' and she goes, 'I love it, but can you change this?' So she starts changing around a few chords, and then she goes, 'Open up a mic.' ... She starts laying down the whole song, like, off the cuff. She didn't have time to live with it. She kind of meditated a few minutes, and then it's like, 'OK, I'm ready. Let's go.' And right offstage, using the energy of that crowd and going into the studio, it was amazing. I can't compare it to anything."

That incomparable feeling was exactly what Gaga was aiming for with Garibay: "I kept saying to him, 'I don't want to do anything I've done before, I don't want to sound like anything I've done before, I don't want to feel like anything I've done before. I want it to be new.' "

Do you think "Marry the Night" tops "Dance in the Dark"? Let us know in the comments!

Re: Drug addict Whitney Houston returns to rehab AGAIN!!!

>>>That said, celebrity-ism amplifies both success and failure, talent and ineptitude, beauty and ugliness.

When they have a movie coming out, or an album to push, they're all over TV and banner ads, yelling "in theaters/stores next week!", and begging us to follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

When they get divorecd, arrested, or sent to rehab, they say "We ask that you respect our privacy at this time."

Sorry. I don't think you can expect media attention only when you're succeeding. It's an all-or-nothing proposition.

That said, where's SexyKev to explain why this move proves what an amazing and brilliant human being Whitney is?
Lex

I can't speak for SexyKev/Taurean79; I, too, am surprised he has yet to make an appearance. While a celebrity cannot expect media attention only when he or she is succeeding, there is no separation between one's professional and personal life, which is unfortunate. Promoting one's project is not the same as discussing a divorce.

If a celebrity is simply focused on the professional success of his or her career (like doing talk shows, radio shows, promoting a movie or an album) then the professional failures should be fair game too. If a celebrity chooses to involve personal idealized successes (marriage, kids) then personal failures should be involved as well.

SexyKevTaurean79 is like an ostrich, burying their head in the sand ignoring everything hoping no one notices and that it all goes away.

If one reads the Whitney fan sites you can see how dillusional they all are. Blaming the media and this and that instead of owning up to the fact that Whitney Houston is a drug addict that needs lots of help.#-o
