When David Attenborough was asked to helm the new BBC Two station, he insisted that all programming would be in colour. One of his new programmes was snooker. Now, David was well aware that his programming was in colour, not all the viewers had colour television sets, and snooker was a colour-based game. He impressed upon the host of the show that very fact and told his to keep in mind that many viewers were watching it in black and white.

At one point, the voice-over was as follows:

"And now he is going for the blue, and for those of you who are watching in black and white, the blue is next to the green."
