Oddly, one of my sisters called me Monday to tell me another sister of ours had died unexpectedly. She was only 65, and had congestive heart failure and COPD undiagnosed. I had never met her. I had met the sister who called, but only twice. I gained about 6 more siblings when I learned my father's identity three years ago, but have no connection to any of them, and several of them are also by different mothers.

It's an odd thing to have close relations one does not know at all, and almost confusing when they die and it changes nothing.

We are closely related, but not family. Go figure.
