That was the King's official birthday, which is always a Saturday and not a day off as such. We don't do badly though with eight bank holidays annually. I just tried to Google the position in the US and saw a list of ten days, although there seemed to be a mixture of some widely observed federal holidays and others (such as MLK Day) where the position was less clear. Do Americans get all ten days off work?

I think annual leave is more generous in the UK. In addition to the eight bank holidays, I get six weeks of paid leave every year. How common is that in the US?

I always thought an entire train was very wasteful. I see no reason why they can't just hook up a single special carriage to an ordinary train.

As an ex-journalist (never royal) I was as lazy as the next one and if a story landed on my desk already written, so to speak, it invariably got used.
Meghan is an inveterate attention seeker and Harry has a huge chip on his shoulder. The pair of them are a PR disaster.
