In the Spring of 2020, when the virus was killing old people in California, Washington state, New Jersey and New York, there was an undertone to the disinterest of the Trump Administration. Maybe because the first 100,000 deaths were in Democratic-majority cities?

The Delta variant has changed the game. It has hit the Republican areas in the Southern US the hardest. While bad logic would lead one to conclude that if you live in an area that is pro-Trump, your chances of dying are 5 times higher, that's really the symptom.

The same disorder that led people to vote for Trump, also led them down the path of denying the virus, not wearing a mask, and most importantly, not getting the vaccine.

If this isn't like signing up for a death cult, I don't know what is?

Mother dies of COVID-19 weeks after husband, leaving children orphans [KKTV]

A widow and mother of four died after a month-long battle with COVID-19. Neither she nor her husband, who died weeks earlier, were vaccinated.

Lydia, 42, and Lawrence Rodriguez, 49, were both hospitalized with COVID-19 in mid-July, KTRK reports. The couple didn’t believe in vaccines and were both unvaccinated, according to Dottie Jones, Lydia Rodriguez’s cousin.

Lydia Rodriguez eventually changed her mind about the vaccine, but by then, she was in the intensive care unit.

“Before she got intubated, one of the last things she told her sister was, ‘Please make sure my children get vaccinated,’” Jones told KTRK. “She would be there for her kids right now if she had been vaccinated.”

The mother of four lost her husband to the virus at the beginning of August, and she lost her own battle to it Monday.
