In spite of ample evidence presented in every media format - newspapers, television, radio and the internet - anti-vaxxers are spreading lies that COVID-19 kills people who are vaccinated. This is false. But of course John posted the lies:

Math is hard. Especially for people who don't accept science. The date of this meme- 29-Oct-2021, Vermont pop 625,000 had a 71% fully vaccinated rate with 192 cases and 2 deaths per day. North Dakota, population 760,000, had a 46% fully vaccinated rate with 505 cases and 6 deaths per day.

Someone should really hunt down where these bullshit claims come from and sue them.

So, there's a separate vaccination policy for people who are immunocompromised because they're at high risk and they may not produce enough response to the vaccine to give their protection from the virus. So, the idea that someone who is immunocompromise would refuse the virus is reckless and in in the case of transplant recipients, it's a waste of an organ that could have done to someone who wasn't an idiot.

A few weeks ago, in one of "my" second-hand bookshops, three "millennials" were engaged in a very brainy conversation prompted by the fat geek throwing out the idea ("thought experiment") of a perfect state of civilization that would feel the need to travel in time (back or forth, who cares) to prevent that perfect state of civilization (whatever that is supposed to mean or imply) from ever decaying... that is, politics as usual for the past millennia, but with a sci-fi twist through millennial geekiness.

It just enrages me when these people are on their deathbed from Covid, and they start asking God to save them. God already gave them a lifeboat in the form of a vaccine, but they turned God down. If you jump in the line of fire of the virus with no protection, God is not going to save you. It just enrages me when these people are on their deathbed from Covid, and they start asking God to save them.

The current prosperity gospel Christians have trouble understanding that religion isn't supposed to about them. They believe that their God is there to serve them, not the other way around.

God already gave them a lifeboat in the form of a vaccine, but they turned God down.

It was interesting to watch some of the interviews from Kentucky last week where people had their homes wiped out by a massive tornado. A common refrain was, "Thanks to God, we survived!". I found myself thinking, "Well, who do you think sent that tornado?".

When one has made oneself the center of the universe, then you begin to believe that there's no way that a God that is there to serve your interests would create a virus that kills 1,200 people a day in the US. If you don't believe that your God does mean things like make viruses, then why would you believe that there would a purpose to things like science, vaccines, birth control, etc? If you're the center of the universe, then surely God isn't going to have you die a slow painful death on a ventilator in the ICU?

There have been some interesting interviews with the outgoing head of the NIH (Fauci's boss) who something like the Mr Rogers of the government's medical science research. He actually addressed those two issues in interviews this weekend.

The funnier thing about it all is that their logic could be reversed and be used against themselves, and make at least as much sense: they can be portrait to point a lifeboat in a sinking boat saying "it's about control", the one about the duck being called a cat by the brainwashed, it all started about freeing people and acting for their good, and finished like a totalitarian nightmare... the deceitful devil appearing to be your savior... being protected by faith and despising science, just like the old Catholic Church did...

They are what is commonly called today "trolls": just do not feed them, do not directly fight them, unless it is by following their same sham logic and show how it just effortlessly can be turned against themselves, in the easy way they did not count that can be turned (freedom to turn down a gay cake and all that, for example); much less try to reason who are only moved by the faith in themselves, that is, the faith in the god the made out of themselves: they are like the extreme right Catholics, who despise Pope Francis and, therefore, despise the Holy Ghost, that is God Himself, because he is not who they expect him to be be: he is not like themselves. That is why they won't see a vaccine as the lifeboat sent by God: that would go against the basis that they won't question, namely, that vaccines are the devil.

They are the true godless pagan: God is what is in their own heads, that is why nobody but themselves can hear Him. They thrive only as far as you follow their game of oppressor-oppressed that their are mimicking from the old left, when it did not yet rule; otherwise, you will be raising a spoilt brat, because people often forget that it's the taking them seriously what lets them win, and that happens as much by yielding to their demands as much as by making them feel victims of a stern refusal: remember everything has its twin... no, its Siamese twin attached, even if you insist on considering just one side and ignoring the other.
