The Sad Saga of Former Rep Aaron Schock

Re: Aaron Schock's Downton Abbey-Inspired Office

Elsewhere, someone posted his opinion of Congressman Schock as "She is a MESS!" Is there anything more to say?

Love the pool pic ... classy as all get out!

Re: Aaron Schock's Downton Abbey-Inspired Office

I think if there was a D next to the guys name people here would be singing a slightly different tune about his taste.

If Schock was a Democrat, presumably there would be no need for him to remain so deeply closeted. Which would mean no reason to keep his office decor secret. Which would mean no interest whatsoever in his tastes (or lack thereof).

The only thing that makes this story interesting is the fact that Schock was so insistent on keeping his office decor secret. The Washington Post might not even have run the story. And if they had, it would have just been a silly "puff" piece in the style section. No one would have noticed, or cared. If there was a "D" next to Schock's name, there would be no story here.

Re: Aaron Schock's Downton Abbey-Inspired Office

It sounds like "Zu" is just fine with the "double standard" of a closeted homosexual politician working against homosexuals like Zu. And that Zu wants us to be okay with that as well.

Yes, because that's exactly what I said. Apparently "let's support a more legitimate criticism than the way this guy decorates his office" is now code-speak for "I support closeted gay anti-LGBT Republicans."

Re: Aaron Schock's Downton Abbey-Inspired Office

Indeed.

And yet, Schock himself insists he is straight, and has a perfect record of voting against gay rights.

I haven't been following your every post @ Just Us Boys.

Are you stating that you support homosexual politicians who work against gays (which, perhaps, include yourself)?

If your answer is "Yes—I do support homosexual politicians who work against gays like myself!" then I will put you on my ignore list.

Very true.

Re: Aaron Schock's Downton Abbey-Inspired Office

I am REALLY ashamed to have to admit that this turdball represents me.

No he doesn't. Not really. He represents the Talibangelicals and the plutocrats.

Re: Aaron Schock's Downton Abbey-Inspired Office

I don't think Schock would much care for the Pride smilie.

OK, so Aaron had to have HELP with this....or, maybe not....no professional would do this. Remember she is from IOWA. This is Council Bluffs chic in the homofag community out there.

Re: Aaron Schock's Downton Abbey-Inspired Office

The decorators services were given free until Schock was interviewed about it, then he claimed that when she sends him the bill he'll pay it. Because to accept free decorating would be a crime, that's why he wanted it kept secret. He even said he's never watched Downton Abbey....I believe that as much as his claim of heterosexuality.

Re: Aaron Schock's Downton Abbey-Inspired Office

This office has nothing to do with Downton Abbey.

It is just a banal room painted red and filled with tatty furniture and pictures.

It resembles an old fashioned bordello in the wild west. Iowa chic.

And yeah. The guy's as queer as a three dollar bill.

Re: Aaron Schock's Downton Abbey-Inspired Office

I knew I'd seen that decor somewhere else...

Re: Aaron Schock's Downton Abbey-Inspired Office

Schock's communications director, Benjamin Cole, has resigned. It seems that once his name became prominent as the man protecting Schock's office decor from public exposure, people began searching for information about him. And he had made several posts on social media sites derogatory to African-Americans.

What a surprise.

Re: Aaron Schock's Downton Abbey-Inspired Office

A veritable "wolf in sheep's clothing". I wonder if his anti-gay stances* are fooling anyone? Nice halo.

Re: Aaron Schock's Downton Abbey-Inspired Office

BTW, I don't for a minute buy the idea that Schock resigned over the spending allegations. What I have read of these does not make them sound that serious, comparatively speaking.

I think someone has irrefutable evidence of Schock's homosexuality, and is blackmailing him. I think Schock is using the decorating thing as a cover under which to resign.

In the 21st century, of course, homosexuality would not normally be a reason to resign from public office. But Schock has been so homophobic and so hurtful to our cause that it would be devastating to him for his sexuality to be revealed.

A dozen years from now, some reporter will look up this (by then long-forgotten) congressman, and discover that he is married to his same-sex partner and living happily in obscurity. Thanks to liberties he tried to prevent while in office.

Re: Aaron Schock's Downton Abbey-Inspired Office

That or he's being forced out by his own party - if a Dem insider had proof, Schock would already have been outed.

Re: Aaron Schock's Downton Abbey-Inspired Office

OOOOOH I love that eagle coffee table, or is there a gayer name for it?

Re: Aaron Schock's Downton Abbey-Inspired Office

Dammit star-warrior and chrisrobin. I have spent all morning looking up those pixs. Now they will collect spider webs in my file.

A pejorative for us used to be (is?) interior decorator. I think "the decorating thing" was a bad idea. :##:
