This year's VMAs sucked sooooooo fucking bad! My title says it all. MTV is sooo over what the fuck what this shit????

I'm 23 now and I've been watching MTV ever since I was a little kid. I miss the old MTV. Back when it was good. What the fuck was this program that was on tonight????

What happened to the good old VMAs??? Remember when they had actual rock bands along with rap and pop onstage??

When the ceremony was held in Radio City NYC and you had a proper host??

What happened to Best Rock Video?? Best R&B Video??? Best Alternative Video??

Best Collaboration??? Hottest Quadruple Threat???? Who came up with these categories????

Poor Britney. Your "comeback" performance will forever be ridiculed at. So sorry but 90s Pop is OVER. For better or worse. Jump on today's train or you're forever gone for good.

Today, you've become a man. You've outgrown the daycare centre that is MTV.

Face it, the music entertainment biz is dying. The music video genre is dying. MTV is dying. Awards shows are dying.

You were just watching everyone hovering around a bloated carcass (and no, I'm not referring to Brit) unwilling to just bury it and move on.
 
I've been over MTV for quite a few years now I rarely watch it, it's not what it used to be.
 
I was disappointed too...MTV Award show used to known for the awesome performances. But in the last few years and last night, it has been horrible. Last night sucked major ass...we only got to see some snippets of the "room party" performances.

xyboy - We did get to see Shia though....looking good.
 
MTV went down the drain years ago! Back when we lost Daria, Æon Flux, Celebrity Deathmatch, Singled Out (not really a great show, but gawd Jenny McCarthy was just awesome! And the guys were hot! *|*), Loveline (always good for a few laughs ^^; ), and even Beavis and Butthead was better than whats on now!! And what ever happened to just playing a damn video from start to finish, not cutting off halfway through, without screaming psychotic fangirls (and boys ^_^) interrupting every 30 seconds?! :soapbox:
 
It jumped all over the place breaking up performances from different clubs and going to commercial during a set. I just thought I was getting old but if younger guys hated it than I'm still hip...| I'm such a loser.#-o:help:
 
I forgot it was on...and MTV almost never shows any videos anymore and when they do it's the same ones over and over from the same music they play on their "tv shows"

I watched it for Britney's performance. I was shaking my head the whole time. Plus those categories were stupid.
 
You have 363 days left to forget how wretched this show was...and 363 days left to start feeding on the hype that the 2008 VMA Show is something that CANNOT BE MISSED. :)

Well mainstream music has been gradually declining for a long time now.

But, there are plenty of actualy musician out there right now who made it on their own. Who write their own lyrics, and don't lip sync on stage.
 
Britney threatened to ditch her VMA performance just minutes before she took the stage. Want to know why? Britney overheard Sarah Silverman rehearsing her monologue in which she calls Britney's babies mistakes and takes jab after jab at Britney.

Britney made it very clear with MTV that Sarah was NOT allowed to talk about her kids, and MTV agreed. That big-mouthed bitch said it anyway.

Sam Lufti was overheard backstage screaming at Sarah Silverman because of her outrageous remarks saying: "Sarah Silverman is a seriously unprofessional person to make fun of infants to get a laugh. Making fun of kids is not condonable," and that "she should have picked on someone her own size."

Perhaps this why Britney looked upset during her performance. Britney was seen backstage in Alli's arms crying about how cruel people can be to her babies.

While it is Silverman's job to get a laugh, it should not be at the expense of little babies. Your career must be hurting if you have to turn to bashing infants in order to gain a laugh. You'll get what's yours.



Britney Spears was to perform under the magic of Chris Angel... but MTV freaked out at the last minute finding out what Britney was actually going to do.

Supposidly, what Britney and Chris were planning was to do a set of mirrors and flotation. But when told to the Palms Hotel/Casino... the hotel flipped.

Insurance was the main problem, and the stage couldn't support the performance. MTV also freaked at the last minute because of their fear of being "too controversial" during the performance. Britney and Chris were infact furious with MTV's sad excuse and told Britney to change the performance at the last minute.

Britney's original performance was to infact appear and disappear. To float through the air... and for much mature dancing

Britney Spears did NOT hear Sarah silverman rehearsing her monologue... She wasn't back there at the same time.

Silverman's rep tells PEOPLE it's untrue: "Sarah never rehearsed her full monologue ahead of time so no one knew what Sarah was going to say except for Sarah." source

Kanye West didn't win because he's black. Ashlee Simpson lip synced because she had acid reflux and now Britney gained 20 lbs. back stage and forgot the words to her song because she heard a mean joke about herself.

i was confused most of the show because i started watching later into it and they kept switching to different rooms with people playing. and everyone on the planet seemed to be in the room with FOB. and the Timbaland/Linkin Park thing was so god awful.


also, i just want to say that that shit about Sarah Silverman is ridiculous melodrama. "why hurt babies?" she didn't... because the babies weren't watching and don't understand English.
