The Walking Dead [merged]

I thought the garbage people segment was brilliant....instead of being bored I was fully engaged again.

As for Jadis and her sob story..FINALLY Rick found his brain again. Uh..trusting her almost got Michonne killed.....

I wonder what they are gonna do with her now? I kinda think she may join the Whisperers....and hopefully the Whisperers will help kill Negan....

So... That Fear the Walking Dead season premier?

I was assuming that since it's set much earlier than The Walking Dead it would be more about early Morgan before he joined up with Rick. Now that it shows it's after Morgan leaves Alexandria means there's been a big time jump on Fear. I rather liked the time difference on each of the shows.
I have a feeling there's going to be a lot of recap stuff this season about what happened after last years season finale and this years premier ):.

I only saw the first 10 minutes but I kinda tuned out because I like Fear alot and this was not Fear...the people coming to talk to Morgan....zzzzzzzzz......

I was thinking about the timeline though. I am thinking maybe a zombie apocalypse happens quick so it might have been parallel...and even though it has been alot of seasons on TWD...they could have just shown us a small window in time.....

The only problem is Judith and Carl that kinda blows that theory...they both obviously grew up.....

I also am not a huge fan of Morgan....I like the character OK but I don't really see what he will bring to Fear...but maybe I should watch first..|

I watched it.....and I was wrong about everything except the first 10 minutes....

It was fresh...interesting..and Morgan become ALOT more interesting to me as a character...and Lennie became more interesting as an actor..|

The time thing now could be parallel because we don't know how long the folks at Fear have been "gone"..they could have skipped a few years easily.....

Easty,

From what I've read, the events of FTWD are about a year after the season finale of TWD. Remember that Morgan hung out for a while in the junkyard, and then, he had to make his trek from Virginia to Texas. So, this would make the FTWD premier take place about 3-4 years after last season's finale. Personally, I think it's a great move. Now, the show can employ some Lost-style flashbacks to let us know what happened to cause the group to move east to Texas while our having to sit through some boring soul-searching episodes as they're actually going through it. Also, I really hope this move finally ties the spin-off to the original. Personally, I'm hoping that Rick & Madison are brother and sister. ;)

Hey ragin!

I love that they are addressing the timeline and it does make sense what you say...and I am more on board now that I watched and rewatched the first episode...

...and Rick and Madison being brother and sister...BRILLIANT!!!! I hope TPTB read this idea somewhere and do it....

I was wondering if eventually the two shows would arrive at the same place and merge....

I'm not sure if there will be a time jump myself. Twice in the finale they showed shots of a huge herd gathering in the distance, and I think Rick even commented on it.

huge herd will always be there anyway
remember the season 6 premiere before The Wolves attack?

^ True I suppose, but I just kinda get the feeling the time jump might not be there. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Now, tonight's FtWD ending... That really disappointed me. They kill off a well established and liked character for Morgan. Why couldn't they have just offed Morgan like they did in the comics. In the comics, and on TV, his character just grates on my nerves.

I was shocked they killed him...one of the best characters from either series really....

I didn't understand it at all...and I think it is a stupid move....

The only thing that makes it sorta OK if it is true is that the actor wanted to leave the show...

I am also not sure if he is dead...or if it is just a dream...

I don't doubt he's dead for good since as you mentioned he wanted off the show. It most likely wont make too much difference until later in current season since there will still be a lot of flashbacks with him, and next season when he's no longer there ):

Thank God, I thought I was the only person who couldn't stand Morgan.

A week behind the US with Fear but episode 3’s ending was brilliant but made me angry at the same time

I am not 100% convinced he is dead....

The scene reminded me of a Wizard of Oz-esque dream sequence...and so I am holding out hope. Nick is truly one of the more complex characters on TV at the moment and I love how they have written him..and the actor is brilliant really....

He is just too good to let go of.........

Reading articles it seems he’s gone but it could be a major trick on the show’s part to fool fans.

TWD is definitely on the wane mainly because Kirkman is drinking too much of his koolaid and the TWD family is so into themselves they can't even see how laborious the show has become. When it first started, it was like some post apocalyptic documentary. Each episode made me think about what I'd do in the same situations. I was actually putting together clues to try to understand what had happened and to what extent. But the show has become all about tribal warfare. Enough!

Kirkman: We want to know more about the dissolution of society and more about the plague that caused the walkers. That is what made the show so unique -- the walker plague. The producers could learn a lot from Syfy's Z Nation.

I dont know what to do if theres no Daddy Rick
he's the main reason I still watch the show
