The Walking Dead [merged]

One common theme in S04E01 was food: the pigs, gardening, and the starving woman. With a new apparent mysterious disease killing the pigs, it is likely to threaten their other food sources too. Food is about to become much more scarce for them. And I think the starving woman (and her dead husband) were part of the Hunters. She was hungry for Rick as much as her walker husband was.

It seemed the woman was hiding a lot more than just her walker husband, and there was definitely some underlying weirdness going on with the things she said and even didn't say. The question of cannibalism is looking entirely plausible at this point.

Rick's head is going to finally explode when he's forced to gnaw (ha ha ha) on that moral quandary.

I think you may be on to something. I read the comic books and there was some cannibalism in the book that came into play. Not exactly sure if they will bring that to tv but you never know. I'm still wondering why she wait until Rick finds her to kill herself, why hasn't she done it all this time she was alone with her "husband"?

Season 3 and Season 4 (so far) have too many walkers, IMO. It's like all walkers all the time. I liked the suspense and mystery (and existentialist apocalyptic feel) at the beginning of Season 1 and the internal turmoil of Season 2. Now it's like a shoot-em-up type of game. Having too many zombies dilutes the effect.

I agree with you on this one. I just finished up season 3 few weeks ago and starting season 4. I was thinking to myself are the producers focusing too much on the visual effects and not enough on the story?

I actually tend to disagree.. Seasons 2 and 3 seemed... tame.

Think about it.. There should be MILLIONS of zombies. That's fear right there!

One little detail I picked up in the episode before last was when Rick noticed something odd about dead earthworms in the compost they were feeding the pigs.

Yeah, thankfully no one saw fit to make us witness that twice.

God, I hate that hypocritical prick.

Me too, I've disliked him since the very beginning. I'm so annoyed after watching this weeks episode.

Rick constantly goes back and forth between not wanting to be in charge, but then making really douchebag decisions for other people of his own accord. I think what he did to Carol was much worse than what she did. I'm not saying that she was right or not but she had good intentions and was only trying to protect people - especially the kids, so then it pissed me off when Rick went on to say she was a threat and he didn't want her around his kids. That just made him seem like a dick taking the moral high ground. Half of the show is about him making morally questionable decisions (he's killed people for less) but then anytime someone else does the same it all becomes so black and white all of a sudden.

I fucking hate Rick now. This might have just ruined the whole series for me.

Carol has been my favorite character from the beginning. Oh well.

WOW...I have been thinking...I have been so addicted to this show since Episode One and now I have no more interest in watching...just completely lost me last night. I will read the spoilers and recaps just in case I hear she will appear again.

Cry me a fucking river. So the show isn't like you want it to be. It won't be affected with 3 or 4 less viewers.

kbye

I don't care how it is affected one way or the other...cry your own fucking river

She'll be back.

It will be interesting how the rest of the group takes this new development.
Wasn't the whole point of creating "the council" to make the more wise, informed, best decisions for the group, wasn't Carol part of the council?

I would not feel comfortable trusting Rick now.

I would not trust him either....I hate the man now. He used the same reasoning to justify his own actions and I bought it....I sympathized with him...and now he is going to turn into a sanctimonious coward and send Carol potentially to her own death for probably protecting HIS children when he was too weak to do it himself?

I hope when he tells the others about what he did someone will see him for the fraud he is. Shane saw it. They should have thanked her for at least trying to do something about it and for trying to teach the kids how to protect themselves. The reason so many of them died in the first place was their refusal to understand what was happening around them...she did a great job whereas he is still struggling.

The only good thing for me was when she left she kept her dignity and showed her real strength which was 100 x more than his ever was. He is weak...and foolish...and he has failed.

I'm mad they didn't just go ahead and kill her off for good. How in the fuck could Carol be anyone's favorite character when in four seasons all she's brought to the table is a God damn WebMD doctorate? But y'all were happy to see Andrea go. Good damn bye.

Having said that, this show definitely peaked in the first two seasons and hasn't given me any form of life sense. We're four episodes into this season and Rick sending Carol packing like he was Tyra Banks and she was an ANTM hopeful is literally the only thing that has happened. All the ratings in the world don't compensate for the contradictory and at times ass backward writing we've been served. I'll keep watching though because at this point I hate all of the characters and wanna see them die. (✿◠‿◠)

I like victims who turn it around and stand the fuck up and take charge.....
