Then we are even,...I don't understand why y0u are not pissed. Then again...I don't care either. I just want to watched everyone die now. I am no longer sympathetic to Rick or the rest of them (except for Daryl)

I was more annoyed at the use of lazy writing to create drama.

I actually liked Carol and I think she was one of the more interesting characters recently, but on this show it's not really a good idea to get too attached to anyone *wave* There have been other characters who I was more bothered to see go in the past.

The new episode was a huge improvement from last week's.

This episode was boring and bizarre. Did not like it.
Just waiting for Michone to shove her machete through his skull.
The popcorn will be hot and ready for that day.

Oh man...I am down for it. I fell in love with him and now I hope he meets Carol and they go to the prison and kill Rick and the rest of them. I hate Rick's guts now...

The writers were smart to redeem him...at least somewhat. Since they went deep into the gray area with Carol and Rick...might as well do the same with the Governor. It worked for me..I bought it.

I always wonder if the writers know where they are going.....I hope for the best but expect the worst. I love it when they surprise me. Six Feet Under and Carnivale both had some of the best writers on the planet. Maybe some of them are free?
 
I'd been looking forward to this week's Walking Dead until I remembered that it was another Governor episode. Now sitting through last week's snooze-fest seems almost like wasted time, and from next week's promo it looks like we're right back to exactly where we were during the middle of last season.

Would have been better if the video ended with the part where Gov hits Martinez on the head with the golf club and feeds him to the pit of ravaging zombies head first.

Well. He's basically considered Rick's right hand man at this point. Daryls not actually in the comic, so it would be really easy to get rid of him at this point. However, he's a HUGE fan favorite. Writers would be committing Zombie suicide if they got rid of him. And they're bringing on a guy (Sgt. Abraham Ford) who is considered his right-hand man for a time in the comics.

And besides, they've done a bit with Tyreese this season- I feel like he could be on the fence in this episode. Lots of character growth left, but definitely has that leadership material... Who knows!

The Talking Dead is going to have Maggie on it... and another surprise member. So... Better not be Glen either! :grrr:

The ones I'll be most upset about - Daryl, Maggie, Glen, Michonne...

I think the show would lose something without Rick/Carl (that's kind of who the comic is based after)... but I think there are other people who could take over.
 
My guess is that Daryl stays. I can see Glen (and maybe Maggie) being killed off though. The core of Rick, Carl, Michonne, Daryl and Herschel will stay in tact if the writers know what they are doing.
 
Gosh. That was more like a season finale rather than midseason.

They took some cues from the comic (Gov killing Herschel, and the baby). Just shocking it all happened in one scene.

Well in the comics, Glen does die and Maggie is still alive.

I started to read the comics after caving in, on number 25. Very different.
 
I was so glad to see the Governor die. I almost cheered when Michonne ran him through with her sword. I think he was a bit of a let-down as a villain as I didn't find him all that threatening, just incredibly annoying.

Having said that, this show definitely peaked in the first two seasons and hasn't given me any form of life sense. We're four episodes into this season and Rick sending Carol packing like he was Tyra Banks and she was an ANTM hopeful is literally the only thing that has happened. All the ratings in the world don't compensate for the contradictory and at times ass backward writing we've been served. I'll keep watching though because at this point I hate all of the characters and wanna see them die. (✿◠‿◠)

it peaked in the first 2 seasons really lol

season 2 was the worst. season 3 was better but andrea WAS awful, and so was their whole 'lets just kill off any character the viewers dont like instead of fixing shit' mantra.

season 4 so far is turning out to be the best. it has a strong central theme, it uses every character meaningfully, it's not being cheap anymore, no one is maddeningly stupid or annoying, its just all around a much better written show now
