The Walking Dead [merged]

If not in next week's finale then in season 5. Bon appetit!

Finale already? Where did it all go?

First we have the half-season hiatus cliffhanger finale.

Then we get back, and we watch.... And we watch...

Finally, just when things start to happen, we get to season finale cliffhanger.

I love it.

I know, right? And now we'll have to wait until October for season 5! Something's not right about AMC. I remember in the old days, the TV season would start in September and go til about April or May with December in reruns. Then there was a 4 month break and the shows would begin again. AMC goes from October to March for a 6/6 split vs the 7/5 split I remember as a kid.

That said, how has the show progressed the outbreak? We know nothing new about its cause, the extent of it, etc. If that fool Eugene knows anything, he needs to start spillin' some beans.

I don't think I believe that Terminus is where the cannibals are. I do think thats who has Beth, but here's why:

When Tyreese first found out about Terminus, he met a group of then-alive survivors who told them to follow the tracks. They didn't seem to be too devious of people.

Also, they were growing crops. Why would they eat people when they had crops? Doesn't make sense. I don't believe that's cover-up, either. If they're intending to eat anyone who shows up, why even bother faking the plants?

I think that there IS a group that has Beth that intends to eat her, but I don't think it coincides with Terminus.

Maybe they are omnivores:idea:

Other sources of meat may not be safe or increasingly scarce. Remember earlier this season Herschel was afraid that their pigs were the source of a virus that caused the outbreak in the prison. So Rick fed them all to the walkers.

And the painting in the house a few episodes that Michonne found had a picture of Mary (Terminus woman) that someone painted a bloody mouth on. Obviously a warning. And the picture had sunflowers, which Terminus has.

The writers like to fool us. I guess we'll soon find out. . .

Okay, maybe a few too many flashbacks.

And we learn Terminus is a bad place. How bad and what they intend to do with the group? Now comes the long SEVEN MONTH wait!!!!!!

Felt more like a mid season finale than a season finale, imo.

Freeze frame 36:10 into the episode. It was pretty obvious they were going to be the cannibals

Eh...I am surprised at this season finale...definitely uneven and it missed the mark. The flashbacks didn't even make sense to me and I see no purpose for any of them.

Where is Carol?...and Tyreese?...and Judith?

I think it could have been written a lot better.

I loved this finale. I thought the flashbacks made alot of sense. They each foreshadowed what went down in present time. Such as Herschel talking about the watch he gave Glenn. The writers did a fine job. Lot's of foreshadowing which is typical of this show.

The rabbit trap scene was a clever foreshadowing to their own demise at Terminus.

Rick's jugular money shot totally surprised me. That was worth the price of admission. I'm sure it also foreshadowed what happens next season when he is confronted with the nature of their new "hosts".

I loved that line by Terminus dude Alex: "People become a part of us. We get stronger." Haha, I bet. . .

It’s not just AMC. And it’s all about sweeps periods and adverting dollars.

I love the show and I can live with its narrative inconsistencies, but that mid-season hiatus just eats at me, as it just ends up dictating the flow of the entire season.

I get why they do it; doesn't mean I have to like it.

Any last words on TWD? I'm left feeling a bit jilted. When season 2 ended, Shane had just been killed and the group was chased off the farm with the prison looming in the background. I didn't see any of that coming.

All of season 4 was predictable. We knew Terminus might be a bad place and we even knew cannibalism might be involved. So when they all ended up in the freight car, I thought, "Yep."

Well I thought it's human when she offered meat as let's face it the rabbits around the place were small and we saw all of one deer. But anyone who read the comic don't spoil anything please although I saw a picture of Beth of her cutting her throat but didn't see it happen. I have been waiting on the cannibals for awhile now come on its the south ;)

I just watched the pilot for Breaking Bad tonight, never seen the show before. Gonna marathon my way through 5 seasons. Anyway, I am confused how that show can get by with saying "fuck" and having nudity, but Walking Dead cannot, when they were/are both AMC shows. The season 4 finale of WD would have ended much stronger if Rick would have said "they're fucking with the wrong people" just like he did in the comic. Makes no sense.

Probably has to do with ratings. WD is way more popular than BB as far as I'm aware. Wouldn't want to rock that boat, even if the show does have blood and guts and gore but a simple swear word will make dolts around the globe cry.

But yeah, I felt that moment (hell the whole finale) was actually pretty weak. But my best guess is they're actually building up to a big 1st episode next season, since the premier of this season was like the single most watched episode of any show ever. Cheap bastards

There is a new zombie show starting on Sci Fi...soon.

Really? I haven't seen any details. I can't believe they have two werewolf shows -- Bitten and Being Human, the latter far superior btw.

TWD is starting to lose me. When it first started watching, I was watching as if I were in the plague and thinking "what would I do, what would I do?" Now it's more about bad people or people behaving badly. There are so many other layers and nuances that the writers are ignoring that I've enumerated above. The virus is intriguing but being ignored -- there's no discussion about walkers and how long they live or why they live.

To feed the people’s fascination with (or fear of) a zombie apocalypse, Syfy announced Monday it has ordered a new show based on just that.

The 13-episode series, Z Nation, will follow the struggle for humans to survive post-zombie apocalypse. Produced by The Asylum, the company who brought us the gem that is Sharknado, Z Nation “will take viewers where no zombie has gone before,” showrunner Karl Schaefer said in a statement. “[The show adds] a sense of hope to the horror of the apocalypse — our everyday heroes take the fight to the zombies.”

Instead of picking up immediately after the apocalypse, though, the show will focus on what is happening three years after the zombie virus hits America. Only one survivor of the plague lives on, but he has to be transported across the country to a lab where a sample of his zombie-free blood can hopefully create a vaccine. But — plot twist! — the survivor has a secret that could be the end of them all.

Z Nation is set to premiere this fall.

I am a little concerned that it is being produced by the same people who brought Sharknado to the screen....
