The World Without the US

Europe can defend itself, the US has to defend its homeland. We also now have to deal with a hostile neighbor to the north who thinks they can defend themselves also. I guess they are going to give up their artic resources.

If you really believe the US has a hostile neighbor to the north we have nothing further to discuss.

^ Just a troll move by the poster you quote. But indicative of the way that TrumpCo. can tilt the opinion of the empty headed cult members and turn them into a ravening mob.

The same thing that Hitler was able to do in the 1930's.

And it has unleashed some kind of snarling bloodlust among the Trumpians to just think they are entitled to take anything they want now. No different than the atavistic urge to steal and rampage that underlies rrrZZZia invading Ukraine.

It is this emboldened renewed sense of entitlement couched in some kind of warped patriotism that makes the US as dangerous to the safety and security of the world as Germany was in 1938.

And it is all because Musk wants rare earth minerals. It is behind all the US threats against Canada, Ukraine and Greenland right now. This is all being driven by the richest man in the world wanting to control it all.

Meanwhile, Europe has responded to the Trump bullying and the disastrous speeches by Vance and Hegseth by coming together to implement their own strategy, committing to the continued defense of Ukraine.

The one thing for sure...without Trump and his brownshirts scowling through every meeting and castigating the leaders of other sovereign countries...there are likely to be more smiling faces in the pictures than when the US is in attendance.

If they are smart, they will choose to hold their meetings in countries that as a felon, he can't enter.

Trump is so stupid, he didn't even realize that the party that won the German elections was not the one he and Musk support.

And Merz hasn't wasted any time making it clear that he will be moving forward with other European nations to separate themselves from the US/Kremlin axis as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile today, Great Britain is loading on more sanctions against rrrZZXa and the heads of a number of European nations are converging on Kyiv to plan their support strategy.

While the US is threatening Ukraine with taking down Starlink and trying to get them to withdraw a UN resolution...and invisible on the 3rd anniversary of rrrzxxia's demented invasion of Ukraine, there are still some adults in the room. From Trudeau:

My message in Kyiv: We have to do everything in our power to help Ukraine secure lasting peace.
Peace that can’t be achieved without Ukrainians at the table.

I think that TrumpCo., sending liddle Marco to give everything away is backfiring in a spectacular way...a repudiation of Trump and his diktats and of the position of the US in determining the outcome.

Combined with the vid of him licking Musk's feet...this is a bad day for TrumpCo.

Well this is pretty much a low point for the US to reach not even 2 months into the regime. By voting with rrrZZXai and other rogue states yesterday, the US basically announced its departure as a liberal western democracy and set the stage for its likely withdrawal from the UN entirely.

Congrats MAGAts.

And there it is. From all of us around the world, thank you for your service but we will all be looking elsewhere.

Remember when this happened to Great Britain?

After the Oval Office debacle today the world without the U.S.is a consideration some countries need to think about more than others. An unintended consequence of this day should be both South Korea and Japan to begin their own nuclear weapon production, better than relying on the unreliable.

I mean if the Ukraine had kept their nuclear weapons that country would still be whole.

What might have been inconceivable 40 days ago is now pretty much a reality.

All world leaders had a chance to witness how a toxic regime behaves in public with a head of state.

I imagine that every democratic government and even some that are not even democracies will be re-evaluating their relationship with the US and will be looking to disengage as much as possible from the Trump regime.

From Fear and Loathing: Closer to the Edge on FB:

"The entire world saw this Oval Office debacle. If you’re an ally of the United States, you just learned a very clear lesson: You cannot trust America under Donald Trump. Your security, your sovereignty, and your survival are all secondary to whether Trump personally feels flattered. If you are not groveling at his feet, you’re expendable.

Meanwhile, Putin is watching. And he’s grinning. Because now he knows that Trump will do his dirty work for him.

Zelenskyy was just the first ally to be fed to the wolves. He won’t be the last.

Welcome to America, 2025. This is what losing looks like."

From David Frum, the truth about 'America First'. And of course, the warning signs are all there. America under Trump is predatory, apparently engaged once again in a zero sum game that is predicated on the notion that for the United States to succeed, all others must fail.

"We’re witnessing the self-sabotage of the United States. “America First” always meant* America alone, a predatory America whose role in the world is no longer based on democratic belief. America voted at the United Nations earlier this week against Ukraine, siding with Russia and China against almost all of its fellow democracies. Is this who Americans want to be? For this is what America is being turned into."

The US needs to get out of NATO, Europeans need to defend themselves. Pulling out of NATO would be the best way.
Just a reminder that the only time that article 5 was invoked was to protect the US on 9/11.

But that's neither here nor there.

At this point, I doubt if any NATO ally would be interested in pissing on the United States if the country was on fire.

Oh. Wait.

Just a reminder that the only time article 5 was invoked was to protect the US on 9/11

NATO troops fought in both Iraq and Afghanistan, is that the only time NATO fought?

Prime Minister Trudeau is in London this morning, working with President Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Starmer, and European leaders to bring about a just and lasting peace in Ukraine — one that guarantees Ukraine’s sovereignty and security.

The US is not in the room.

Not as NATO troops.

Canada fought in Afghanistan (only to be betrayed when Trump handed over the country to the Taliban) but declined providing troops in Iraq because we felt (knew) that the premise of the war was faulty.

That'll be the fucking day we will.

All Republicans like Lindsey Graham do is make all the rest of the western democratic nations regard the US as an untrustworthy, ungrateful and thuggish 'partner', ruled by self-serving, sycophantic, spineless, venal, small men and women.

And Lindsey, today, the Europeans and Canada are meeting without the US to determine how we best do that.

But bear in mind, Aunt Pittipat, Europe and Canada won't be looking to buy all their arms, planes and ammunition from the factories in the US, at least not for the next four years...or longer if you decide to transform into a Hungarian style autocracy and oligarchy. For decades, the US arms industrial complex has gotten rich off our tax dollars as well and I imagine that France, Great Britain and Germany are looking to fill the gap.

And if you have another war of adventure like Iraq or Afghanistan...maybe don't call.

That'll be the fucking day we will.
The poster was just firing off another troll response, but it is very telling about how the far right wingers are expressing their feelings that for some reason the US is entitled to Canadian territory and resources.

There is some notion among the MAGAts that Canada is relying on US forces for protection.

There are no American bases in Canada today; 156 active-duty members of the U.S. military are deployed in the country, according to the latest data from the Pentagon's Defense Manpower Data Center, Jan 2025.

As pointed out in another thread, Canada is fully aware that US military surveillance in the far north is not for protection of Canada, but to protect the US and their own use of the Northwest Passage.

Canada does have four NORAD bases that are part of a mutual defense strategy of early warning and detection of incoming missiles and aircraft that could reach the US.

But bear in mind that when Peter Navarro and Trump himself openly talk about changing the location of borders (seizing land) and/or stripping Canada of its sovereignty, there are plans being developed for the US to attack and occupy all or part of resource rich areas that the US oligarchs have decided they should control.

And a lot of MAGAts will be loudly voicing their support for the US to invade and take whatever it wants.

This is the new world order and I touch on it in a number of other threads, including the move to re-divide the world into spheres of influence ruled like pre-modern age empires.

Military chiefs from most NATO and EU countries met in Paris yesterday to discuss new security arrangements.

The US wasn’t invited.

It was a closed door meeting and there’s been no announcement of outcome but with both Australia and Japan in attendance we seem to be seeing a new alliance forming.
