The worst Mac PC Ad

How can you hate something you have never used?

Most PC users DON'T know what they are doing, that's the point. Most people leave use their computer for months at a time and let it accumulate crap and then it is left to people like you and I to fix all of the problems. The fact is, if these people just used a Mac they would hardly get any problems and they can actually use the computer how it was designed.

Yes, you can hate something that you've never used. Like when a person said: "I hate suicide," is it necessary that the person has already done it? No. For me, from all the stuff I read off the internet and from other people's usage of Mac, etc., I come to a conclusion not to use a Mac. lol I know I'm kinda crazy but mind you, I'm willing to try new things as I said earlier.

Yeah, if the people don't know how to maintain a PC, they should not use it. So that there will be none of that crap that PC is bad or something. People who are converted to Mac are just incapable of using a PC. So they prefer Mac to PC. Does that tell you something? PC or Mac, it depends on a user's preferences. [still, I'm in for PC. :D About OS, I would like to learn more about other ones though.]

Sorry, but you couldn't be further from the truth here. The majority of people who are making the switch have been using PC's for 5, 10, 20 years. So you can hardly say they are incapable of using a PC.

Let me preface this by saying that I am largely ambivalent towards Macs. I know they are better at certain applications than PCs just as PCs are better at certian things than Macs. I don't think anyone can argue against that.

Regardless, when a company takes to "We do this better than our competitor, BUY OUR STUFF!" - I get turned off in a hurry. It reminds me a lot of when it's votin' season and all the candidates run those ads where it gets all dark and gloomy and the ominous voice is like "OUR CANDIDATE'S COMPETITOR VOTED TO ALLOW CANNIBALISM!" I prefer when a company sells their products based on their individual merits, not what the other isn't fantastic at. I don't know, it seems a lot more.. trustworthy to me.

My 2 cents.

this thread totally sucks

everything that anyone- read ANYONE- in this thread says will be based on personal experience. if you have had bad experiences with PCs, then you will like the MAC more, and vice versa

speaking from personal experience, which is all anyone can do here, instead of making generalized statements like 'macs rule and pcs drool' (can you be any more first-grade-like?) all i have to say is that the macbook i bought used from my boyfriend is extremely better compared to the pc i used to use (which my mom still uses)

for 200$ less- READ IT: LESS- my laptop has over 5x the memory, a shit-ton more processing power/speed, and has only crashed once in 4 months. the PC crashed about 20 times in the first 3 months we had it, and Dell was too stupid to know how to fix it for us

sure there are features that i won't need, or won't use much, but having the computer fix itself, never having to do a defrag or virus scan, and not having to call tech support for anything (except for a battery issue- once- which was resolved in a few hours), i'm much happier with the macbook than i ever could have been with the PC

and thats all i'm posting in this thread

^^This thread wasn't originally about Mac vs PC, but rather the Mac commercials as of late. Mac vs PC threads always suck because its the same damn arguments over and over again.

As this was in Zune headquarters (a private office), and was not a direct attempt at me, the consumer, to purchase a microsoft product, I'm not too torn up about it. If this was in public locations or made into a commercial, then it'd be a different story for me. Of *course* a Microsoft office is going to be pro-Microsoft, anti-competitor environment, I'd be shocked if it was anything less, as it is, after all, business. The same could be said of any company.

It's when that company takes that view and turns it into an ad campaign that I have an issue.

2 more cents. Almost a nickel.

it actually says that in the article Did you Read It?

Also Competition = A Good thing For everyone

Microsoft's Bach said that at the end of June they will have sold a bit over a million. This was misquoted as *we have sold a million"

I can see how the reporters made a mistake cos Bach talks so fast, like a teenage girl.

OK, AJ, are you gonna get a pink one?(!)
