Thinking about going to a bath house today

Well I looked on that site someone posted earlier and the place I was planning on going to doesn't have a website. The only other bathhouse in the area that did looks really shady and trashy...

and looks like it's in the middle of some industrial side of a random slum. I'm not sure about going. Especially since I've been hearing most of the guests are HIV positive are whatnot.

So? If random anonymous sex with strangers is what you want, you have nothing to worry about if they're positive. You can pretty much do everything but bareback in being safe. So the rude and insensitive comment about HIV+ men was unnecessary.

The last time I was in a bathhouse was at a private bathhouse party which used to take place monthly in San Francisco, in the Castro. That was my first time in at least 25 years. I didn't have sex with anybody, but I had a number of conversations, at one point I was massaging a hunky guy who floated my way in the Jacuzzi (and "no sex" didn't matter), had a really great chat (more than an hour) with a HIV+ guy who was older than me, etc. Yeah it was cool.

That is not the "ordinary" experience at the baths, though.

I don't think it's rude and insensitive to want to avoid anonymous sex wit HIV positive people.

I think JB , was referring to the piont of just when do you become selective . if all you are looking for is a stranger on stranger encounter .

Honestly , i too have seen gay men make some really dumb comments about HIV .
 
Fair point. I guess from my point of view, I wouldn't be having anonymous sex with anyone disease or Not. I'm not that trusting.

It wasn't meant to be rude and you can still catch HIV through oral sex. Depends on what you're doing. Either way, if I knew someone was HIV positive, I wouldn't consider doing anything sexual with them at all.
 
Unfortunately,
there are higher % of people in the bathhouse who are hiv+ compared to the general public population, so yea be-careful.

Here's the bathhouse closest to me (the one on the right, with the swimming pool). They recently opened the Chinese restaurant next door. The name CAN'T be an accident, can it?

Most good bath houses are in the cities where are very dense population and not in a single building like that.

Its amusing you preface your post with "it wasn't meant to be rude" then finish it by saying you would never do anything sexually with someone if you knew they were HIV+. If you're sucking on a guy who is positive, you're not going to become positive. If he cums in your mouth and you swallow, there's a very small chance of risk, but the saliva that coats your mouth and esophagus acts as a natural inhibiter to HIV. It's no where near the risk of barebacking, which is likely something you're doing with guys you think are negative.

Regardless, I wouldn't risk it, and if you found that rude, and then make a stupid assumption that I bareback with guys who I think are negative. If you're HIV positive, that's fine, but I personally wouldn't have sex with someone I knew was HIV positive. I've volunteered in AIDS wards and I don't have anything personal against someone who has the virus. If you have a problem with that, that's your issue.
 
I remember seeing an ad for that Denver location. Talked to some gay guys who said it was busiest just before dinner and then much later at night. Since I was at a conference that wasn't going to happen.
