Most of the technical and human help in japan at the moment is coming from the US and Europe. I heard that the US airforce for example extinguished the fires at the reactor roof yesterday. this kinda shows how japan is standing to it's other "high tech" neighbors, but also shows how close the US and japan are.

Sadly, not all of them are "inbred rednecks." What is interesting is that a lot of these people seem to be too young to have experienced what the country experienced the Pearl Harbor like Lord Booticus said. You can live vicariously through someone by reading and hearing personal first-hands stories, but the hate people have... it's very sad. I just don't think they should voice their opinions. Unfortunately, we're all human. 9/11 made many people fear Muslim-Americans. And that fear/hatred still exists. Look at the expansion of the mosque in, I think, Nassau County here on Long Island.

Fortunately, as RazorEdge88 said, most Americans aren't saying this.
