Abba
When I think about ABBA...they make me cringe..

They reminds of parent's coctail party- karaoke fun-time with songs like IdoIdoIdoIdo, Fernando, Chiquitita, Waterloo, Mamma-mia..
Do they have any normal title?
Only dorks came out with name like ABBA

and perhaps..these costumes should convince you:
"Here kitty"...
They made horrible music videos (MV) mostly a choreographed face meeting face in silhouette- zoom in/out, fade in, fade out, heavy vignette, paused- still- close up, making face
what the fuck is this?
Not only that! Both Agnetha and Frida have singing style equivalent to wedding singer in unison. NO BODY..., no-modern female vocalist could copy their formula EVER!!..It's a dead move to sing like that..EXTREMELY outdated and silly..!
Their high pitch always seem like shouting, idk maybe that came from terrible 70's recording technique, but I always wonder who shouted in the song? It seems Frida always try to be the dominant singer but I heard Agnetha in some of the songs having similar range and tone with Frida?
Nevertheless, we'all know that Frida is more fierce on stage than that cool blonde; Agnetha..proven here
Yes Frida, very nice... good legs ^^
That being said...
Im having ABBA marathon for 3 days- can't stop listening to their song every time I click on youtube..well, not to their corny songs like IdoIdo, Fernando, Waterloo...
well Im listening to those too...T_T No! Im not a fan.. just heavy listerners, not like those crazy drag queens on Priscilla- with ABBA's turd collection
My favorite is of couse..The mighty: "Dancing Queen"
I read on Wiki that Frida caught on tears when she first heard the song demo...
""I found the song so beautiful. It's one of those songs that goes straight to your heart."" Yes Frid, I agreed

The power of that song..is not on the singers/ vocals but on
the arrangement! Dancing queen is a masterpiece created from those 2 talented guys in the band on their ongoing project.
It's very beautiful, if not..the most beautiful piece of music I ever heard...a perfection, a gift from heaven..!
Im not kd, listen to the instrumental ( I like better): the strings, rhythm, beat, piano, bass..drum...
Thk God even a piece from Mamma Mia- wasn't original but it's the closest to imitate the original instrument and very clear. Thanks to that movie rerun last week- now I can't stop listening to Abba :~)
If you pay attention: Dancing Queen released in 1976 UK and 1977 in US. And that song is like the ultimate prom song- EVER!...The lyric is just so obvious..it's about capturing the perfect fleeting moment of having fun, to be totally in your element and let go...
I meant..it's lucky to be 17 when that song released and played on your prom..^^
If you were 17 in 1976/77 that means you were born between 1960/61
Dancing Queen seemed like a song specially crafted for baby boomers when they about to attend prom..how cool is that? ^^
You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life
See that girl, watch that scene, diggin' the dancing queen
Friday night and the lights are low
Looking out for the place to go
Where they play the right music, getting in the swing
You come in to look for a king
Anybody could be that guy
Night is young and the music's high
With a bit of rock music, everything is fine
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance...
You are the dancing queen, young and sweet, only seventeen
Dancing queen, feel the beat from the tambourine
You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life
See that girl, watch that scene, diggin' the dancing queen
You're a teaser, you turn 'em on
Leave them burning and then you're gone
Looking out for another, anyone will do
You're in the mood for a dance
And when you get the chance...
You are the dancing queen, young and sweet, only seventeen
Dancing queen, feel the beat from the tambourine
You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life
See that girl, watch that scene, diggin' the dancing queen
