Well, last week just Saturday, that was when I watched Kingsman for the first time. Although that movie had been out since Feb, but I wait until it reach redbox, cheapy me. ^^ I think I already gave a hint on Kingsman, particularly on character and fashion sense..wise ..long time ago on that poor carrie thread. Anyway, I've got hooked by its trailer.

So, I gasped along watching that movie halfway. OMG this movie definitely gonna give asian a bonerr!! Why?
Well, I keep watched it 'till finish. After that, just being idle, I googled Harry x Eggsy slash/fan fiction. The result was 'boom' like magic. There are tons of manga/yaoi (same sex romance) depiction of Kingsman main characters. Where the hell those came from if not from asian fanboys/fangirls? ^^

but eh..I don't really buy it

Kingsman success not only because its movie plot in tune with east asian, but also at the depth of emotional level. This movie is less emotional- cold, dry and efficient while the characters are sharp and superior. Here's a thing..if you want to earn respect/admiration from east asian, you better perfecting your character as sharp/efficient as possible, almost flawless AND last but not least...today's east asian are very meticulous with personal style, so do all the dance with a dash of style
Also the humor in this movie I found it very east asian..
Idk how you (Matthew Vaughn, the director) do that? Did he dig to the depth of asian mind? To find what they like? Or this all coincidence? ^^

What if Kingsman also a film about secret agent but the characters are flawed/ humanist/ approachable? They don't like it, bite me..this movie won't explode over there. What if the characters are fat? Slob? Disabled and a bit odd?

Yes and No..

the politically correct way to answer this is to NOT stereotyping ^^ I do too, keep open mind..Tbh I never met east asian who do not have robotic traits.
I'm also asian!! I'm South East asian idiot! ^^ We're different.
I'm too laidback..not very punctual ( Itry Itry! ) and we're ok with imperfection. Maybe because we're living in tropical island when the weather always predictable and time move slowly..just like in Hawaii ^^

So, everyone can challenge this mis-conception I dont mind. Where I got the news? Watching all documentaries about plastic surgery in S.Korea, watched tons of real life videos about S.Korea, China Japan and Taiwan culture, videos testimony from foreigners (wtver background) who lives/visit over there.
And if that's not enough, a friend of mine who's in US Military, she had years Active Duty in South Korea, she told me stories ^^

How the movie effect me..?

Not gonna spoil..I think the movie is not disappointing and well done in my taste.
Although the story is a bit too dark ...I can't really have fun watching thriller movie with zombies, war, pre-apocalypse setting..idk, it just me. I don't think the story necessarily need to be that 'grim?' because it might interfere with romance between Eggsy and Harry.
they're too cute.

but I happen to like this movie aLOT perhaps because Harry reminds me of me and Eggsy is like a guy who I crushing in highschool day.
Character and astrology wise..Virgo <3 Scorpio
although they both not my types..

Have you ever go to Hobby Lobby? US residents? ^^

to buy knick-knack decorations or DIY art and fart products? When you enter the store, what's your first impression?
My first impression that the store have 'hideous' taste of home decoration.

So, if I loathe them (style) why on earth I'm shopping at their store? Because they sell cheap polymer clay and acrylic paint that's why. And Hobby Lobby also the closest to my house.

You know, sometimes you knew not to support Christian retail store due to their bad morality, but they happen to be a "giant" in industry like take a sample of Barilla pasta and spaghetti, they dominate grocery aisle.. 90%
I wish I didn't pick them
But I have no choice. However, thanks for Fred Meyer (Kroger) to sell their competitive product next to Barilla. Screw you Barilla anti-gay marriage!!
