Three Favorite Christmas Movies

I have a tradition of watching "A Christmas Carol" every Christmas Eve. After seeing Alastair Sim as Scrooge, I can't watch any other version. He's terrific.

Did you ever notice the stagehand in the mirror near the end of the movie? Watch here when Scrooge looks into the mirror at just under a minute into the scene. Look just to the left of his reflection. The same stagehand appears when he goes to the mirror again a few moments later.

After posting it occurred to me that the version of A Christmas Carol starring Sim is actually titled "Scrooge."

I missed it one year because I was only looking for A Christmas Carol in the TV listings.

Any version of Christmas Carol, Miracle on 34th. Street and It Happen on 5th. Avenue.

I can't limit it to three...

in no particular order:

A Charlie Brown Christmas

A Christmas Carol (Patrick Stewart)

Holiday Inn

Home Alone

It's a Wonderful Life

Miracle on 34th Street (original)

White Christmas

and one I love but had forgotten (thanks, josher, for mentioning it!):

A Christmas Carol (Mr. Magoo)

p.s. -- okay, I lied; they're in alphabetical order

i can't believe no one mentioned love actually. that's one of my favorite christmas movies.

I'm not denying it.

//hates christmas.

I like many but the stand outs I remember best

1)Bad Santa
2)All Through the House - Tales From the Crypt, 1972, Joan Collin
3) Edward Scissorhands

A Charlie Brown Christmas

Tim Burton's: The Nightmare Before Christmas

I just remembered "Come To The Stable" with Loretta Young.

1. It's A Wonderful Life: I know it makes me a sap, but this movie always makes me cry.

2. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation: This is just hysterical.

3. White Christmas & MiracleOn 34th Street (1947 version) (TIE): I know it's cheating, but I love both of these movies equally.

I also love Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, How The Grinch Stole Christmas (Animated TV version), and Holiday Inn. :)
