On the Internet Movie Database's Top 250, The Wizard Of Oz is barely hanging onto the #100 spot, and it looks like it will be falling out of the top 100 soon. Why do you think that might be?
Let's see, Back to the Future, Grindhouse, Donnie Darko, Pirates of the Caribbean and about a dozen others that I've never heard of... This is obviously a popularity contest to be voted on by the masses. Thus, only two musicals, Oz and Singing in the Rain. Not even Meet Me in St. Louis!
Movie critics' lists are bad enough, this one's awful. It's a great snapshot of IMDB's main audience though. They appear to like the new movies much more than classics.
Any comments?
