Triple G Appreciation thread

Good Sunday morning, Gary! (*8*)

My Gators took care of Tennessee in fine form last night. How could I have ever doubted them? And your Holy Men won yesterday. I see they're taking on Ohio State next week. It'll be a tough test, but I have a hunch they'll win it.

I'm sorry to hear about your folder duty helper. Unless you can get a volunteer to help you, you'll probably have to do it yourself. Have a wonderful Pew Duty day later.

(*8*) Good morning, John, RM, Rob, Boris, Dan,

I'm happy with the outcome of my favorite collage teams, but not with the continuing heat. Still around 110F.

Off to pew duty now.

Watched TV until 3AM this morning. Got up at 8AM. Got a few things done around the house. Now will nap until time to leave for the evening Bible study.

Hi, Gary. (*8*): I hope you had a refreshing nap, and that evening bible study will go well for you.

I’m okay, but it’s all happening here! In the morning, I refilled the container of porridge oats. I thought I had put the lid back on properly. I then tried to put some of the oats into a bowl. The lid dropped off, and the oats poured out all over my dining table!!! Oh well, these things happen. ;)
Then I had to go for my weekly rugby league paper. I was happily cycling along to the shop, when I could see water on the road. It turned out to be some serious flooding from the overnight thunderstorm! I got off and was able to walk past it.

So, I’m a bit tired. I think I’ll go to bed, hoping that the bed won’t collapse, or something!

Good Friday morning, Gary! (*8*)

We're coming up on another weekend, and that means college football. My Gators are facing Charlotte tomorrow, so it should be an easy win for them. And your Holy Men have a big test with Ohio State, which should be a good game. And you've got pew duty on Sunday.

Are you getting any relief from the heat out there yet? The temps here in Florida are getting to be almost pleasant late at night, but we're still having the hot and muggy days and the usual thunderstorms.

(*8*) Good evening, John

I am worried about the Holy Men, Ohio could be a problem. That is the only televised game I am interested in.

Your gator.gif should quickly devore another poor team in the swamp.

Well, Fall has Fell along with our temperatures. The low last night was 67F and the high today was 88. Very nice. With low humidity. Actually, had to add hot water to the cold for my shower. Hope this is the end of the heat.

Still looking for home insurance., Every company has pulled out of California. Appears only fire insurance is available. No other risks will be covered.

^ Hope Rob survived that bed collapse 😱.

Get your :corn: and

Hi, Gary.(*8*)

I hope you are having a great day today, and my fingers are crossed that you will get the insurance all sorted out.

Actually, it wasn’t my bed that collapsed, but porridge oats!:p  Well, I’m okay and will soon be in bed dead to the world!

(*8*) Good morning, Rob, RM, John,

Another week is gone. Wish time would slow up a bit. It's pew duty time again, but first time for a little breakie

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Good Monday morning, Gary! (*8*)

I'm sorry that your Holy Men had a tough loss Saturday. My Gators had no trouble winning, but there were still some troubling aspects to the game. They couldn't finish off their drives in the red zone against a weak opponent. That has been a problem for them the last couple of years, and is something they can't afford to do against SEC opponents.

So it's cooling off in the desert a bit. I'm sure you're happy about that. Here, it's cooled down to highs in the 88-90 degree range, but with humidity and lots of rain and thunderstorms. At least it's back to semi-tolerable after the hot days of July and August.

Hi, Gary. (*8*) I hope you are having a great day today, and will enjoy a lovely week.

I had a new front door fitted today, and it is certainly much better than the old one which was knackered! :p:lol:
We have a warning in place for severe gales later on Wednesday and Thursday from storm Agnes.

(*8*) Good morning, Andrew, Rob, RM, Boris, John

Only 67F this morning \:/, but it will still rise to around 100.
Folder duty, haircut, shopping at Wallyworld, and waiting to hear if Progressive Insurance has accepted my application for house insurance. If so, the premium will be double what it was 😱, if not I will be able to get fire only insurance at the same price I have been paying for full coverage.

Clear blue skies and calm this morning.

Happy Hump Day everyone.

(*8*) Good afternoon, Andrew, Rob, John, RM, Boris, unload

Last night I watched my last DVD from Netflix. :( After tomorrow I do not have to return it and get to keep it forever. I will miss the DVDs; streaming is just not as good. It's alright for tablets and smart phones, but I have reference level 4K player and TV, so the lower quality is noticeable.

Hi, Gary. (*8*) I hope you had a lovely Thursday. I belong a dvd/Bluray forum, and they have a thread devoted to the end of physical media. It’s very sad, but it seems the majority of people are quite lazy and cannot be bothered to use disc’s anymore. There’s one exception however, and that is vinyl records which are doing well.

I’m okay, but very late tonight. I had to have a nap earlier on owing to a restless leg. It’s okay now, but I won’t get to sleep until about 3.00 a.m., It’s certainly quiet as a grave at this time of night, good for concentrating on things. ;)

Good Friday morning, Gary! (*8*)

I think your Holy Men will have no problem with Duke. But I'm not sure how my Gators will fare against Kentucky. They had a 30- something win streak against them, but Kentucky seems to have suddenly given Florida all sorts of problems in the last three years or so.

Well, it sounds like you're at least getting pleasant nights out in the desert, but 100 degrees in the day is still too hot. But the humidity's lower, so even that's probably not too bad as long as you remember to keep yourself hydrated. Down here in Florida the temps are still almost 90 in the day, but the humidity can make it feel like 105 or whatever. We're still getting a lot of rain and thunderstorms.

Isn't home insurance a pain in the butt? It sounds like you've got it even worse than we do in Florida. It's crazy here, most insurers have left the state, and the few that remain keep dropping everybody's coverage. And they won't insure people unless they meet the hurricane codes passed in the last 20 years, which leaves a whole lot of us out. My house was built in 1958, and adding high-impact windows, and even replacing wooden walls with concrete, etc., just to qualify would cost a fortune. I had a friend that had to pay $5000 just to fix up a carport closet the way his insurer wanted just to get coverage.
