Isolationism, exceptionalism, authoritarianism, one-sided diplomacy and undermined democracy aren't models for the rest of the world to follow.
They form a cautionary tale, one that other previously successful countries have followed to their demise.

I've seen many videos and interviews in Iran over the decades since the 80s and they all pretty much show the same thing. There is a small very vocal minority that hates America supported by the regime but that the average Iranian would be more than happy to live in peace with the US. They may teach folks to hate America but it doesn't seem to be taking. I was laughing at the one guy in the green shirt at the Mosque who finally joins the handful of others chanting only he not even chanting and is just barely putting any effort in the hand motions. "yea yea hate America (Yawn)"
And you have been taught for years to hate them. You hate a very small portion of them, but ALL of them have become victims of your hate. One day you will see that... I hope.

Knowing the answer would require knowing the workings of your mind, and even with my vast knowledge of psychology (I took a few courses of it in university), I can't for the life of me figure out how your mind works. It may have been covered in my abnormal psychology course, but that was over 40 years ago and my memory is a bit rusty in those matters.
Are people still victims of hate when they're told that the best thing that could happen is when they're bred out of existence, or that they're infinitely inferior to another race... or is it OK when it's directed at certain people?

I never said any race was inferior, and I never said any race deserves to be bred out of existence... unlike your friend who made such statements. If I showed you his quote, but omitted his name and who he was commenting on, you would be screaming like a chimpanzee about how it must be some "bigoted trump supporting racist."
Since religion was mentioned earlier, I do not support ANY religion that teaches gays should be put to death, or that women should have no rights... whether it be Christianity, or Islam. I'm not "selective" on that either, I don't like any religion because it teaches nothing but hatred, and it hinders any kind of technological and scientific progress...
But sure, you can defend one particular religion that treats women like property and executes people for being gay... you're free to do so... and I'm free to say I'd rather not accept that level of homophobia.
The problem isn't Islam itself; other religions are just as dangerous and hateful.

One side says that all Muslims are ISIS, which is not true... and the other side completely ignores all the atrocities that Islam teaches, and then shouts down anyone who criticizes said atrocities by calling them "racist" (even though Islam is NOT a race, it's a RELIGION.)
No one's afraid to criticize the hatred and bigotry that Christianity teaches... so why is it suddenly so terrible to criticize another religion for teaching the same types of things?

He was stereotyping a type of white people, not saying a whole race of people should be bred out of existence. Secondly, that is not how I would react considering I don't scream and I don't claim that racists exists specifically as Trump Supporters. Racism or any bigotry is not party line specific.
Also I have never defended women being treated as property nor do I defend when people execute or treat any group of people in any manner like that. I just separate the radicals from the more rational side of it (while condemning it) and don't use them as excuses to generalize and as a means to ban a whole group of people from my Country.
As for the topic, I will reiterate that it is awful and this doesn't deserve to happen to any group of people at all for any reason or rhetoric that could be made up to justify it. The people who are getting hurt the most here are the innocent and barely if at all the individuals that are supposed to be the targets of such actions are effected.
This has already been proven to be more about race and a religion that is not Christian/Catholic, if it was specifically about illegal immigrants or national security then the people with green cards wouldn't be effected.
It is a sad time to be alive during what is going to be another stain on this nations History. Further proof that we never actually learn from our History.
