Yup. Raking up all the crap on the forest floors of California would prevent the forest fires. Just look at Finland!

I'm all for protecting the border against that invasion, but there's plenty of time still, atleast half of those troops could have been sent to help with the fire efforts.

I hate to think what orifice he pulls it out of, but I wish he's pull out a bit of common sense as well. He has no idea that forest fires travel through the canopy and I bet he has no idea that it's the oils in the trees that keep the fire burning and not the dead 'litter' that he wants the state to 'rake up'. I also bet that he has no idea that the fires create their own weather systems. But he's smart enough to that cutting funding would allow him to travel to more rallies and his golfing weekends.

Yep the trees and/or underbrush are really what keep it going, not all the dead needles & crap on the ground (not to mention all that 'dead stuff' can act as mulch & actually be beneficial to forest health)
I sometimes wonder if he's even ever set foot in a live forest. Or seen how pine burns.

I just watched a news video about the reaction and Finland's president, Sauli Niinistö, told Trump during the visit that they (Finns) 'take care of their forests'. Trump made up the 'how' all by himself.
