BTW, exploiting asteroids isn't wishful thinking -- there are three companies in the world currently organized to do just that which are on track with their plans. If they remain on track, then by 2040 we will have three additional moons for the earth (or, if a moon base gets established, possibly our natural moon will have a moon or two of its own).
"If" is a big word when planning such an enterprise. I work in aerospace, and even assuming a launch will happen on schedule is risky, much less the chain of 42 impossible events that lead to the desired conclusion of a complex plan to exploit free ranging space rocks.
I'll meet you back here in 2040 and we can see how fanciful this dream is. There are also companies that take good money to freeze human brains, but that doesn't make it wise or useful.
