Humor-Satire Trump Staff Picks, Co-Conspirators and the Revolving Door of Departures [2024 Edition]

Kari Lake is too insane to ever be elected to public office.

Instead, she got appointed as a "special advisor" to the U.S. Agency for Global Media which oversees the Voice of America programming, an agency which has provided media content, including news, to the entire globe since WWII. The service has provided programming to Americans during wartime, in service overseas and to the general public, including both English-language programming and content in nearly 50 different languages. For 80 years, it has provided these services with less than 200 employees.

Until Trump and Musk.

Kari Lake, the nutjob failed Senate candidate from Arizona is destroying an 80 year old institution of American free speech.

She is still crazier than racoon shit.

And her lust for proximity to power has led to her doing the will of the Kremlin through Musk and TrumpCo.

She knows her political career is beyond redemption now so she is throwing herself into doing as the Fuhrer directs and destroying the organization. And of course now that the courts prevented it from being
dismantled, she is trapped in a dead end job.

A Federal Judge is fed up with the DOJ still listing Lindsey Halligan as the US Attorney for Eastern Virginia after the Federal Judiciary determined that Halligan's appointment was illegal and all filings by Halligan were invalid. In the decision against Halligan, the courts did NOT stay the decision, so Halligan should have been taken off the payroll and removed from all DOJ documents listing her as the US Attorney. The court's decision that the appointment was illegal negated any role Halligan ever had inside the DOJ.

The action by the judge queues up disciplinary proceedings, up to and including disbarment for Halligan.

A federal judge ordered Trump ally Lindsey Halligan to explain why she's identifying herself as the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia despite a court ruling that she was unlawfully appointed to the role.

Why it matters: U.S. District Judge David Novak in his order giving Halligan seven days to respond asked her to explain why her actions do not constitute "a false or misleading statement," which the Trump-appointed Richmond judge suggested could potentially result in disciplinary proceedings.

  • The order comes weeks after another federal judge dismissed the Department of Justice case against New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) and former FBI Director James Comey, which found that Halligan's appointment was "defective."
  • Novak noted that the order came at his own initiative, rather than from an outside party, like defense attorneys.

This is TrumpCo. toughing it out and doubling down.

Unless the courts actually start to prefer serious charges and consequences, this is all just theatre.

TrumpCo. is counting on the overthrow of the entire judicial system as part of seizing total control of government.

Well at least the lawsuit is now filed. This is yet another litmus test for the US.

Prima facie, there is no case for Hegseth, but I doubt if the DoD or it's 'spirited' leader care.

This was just another headline action designed to hit the news and then to die.

If Kelly isn't successful, then all military personnel are neutered and rendered dumb.

More trouble in the not-actually-the-US-Attorney-Halligan's office...

The lead prosecutor and the #2 in the office has been removed. No valid US Attorney and no #2.

The top career prosecutor in the Justice Department’s Eastern District of Virginia office has been fired, according to three people familiar with the development Monday.

It is the latest dramatic change to the powerful prosecutors’ office that previously brought cases against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James.

The prosecutor, Robert McBride, was in the US Attorney’s Office for only a handful of weeks, working as No. 2 to Lindsey Halligan, who is President Donald Trump’s pick to lead the office as US Attorney but whose authority has been undercut in court.

Pam Bondi's management of the DOJ is going to go down in the history books as one of the most incompetent, destructive administrations, if not the most incompetent, ever.

Yesterday, the DOJ had several members of their leadership resign in protest over DOJ's refusal to investigate the shooting of Renee Good. Reports on the resignation indicated that the decision of the department to not investigate was the last straw in a year full of frustration for DOJ employees who believe in the rule of law.

Top DOJ leaders quit in protest as Trump official refuses to probe deadly ICE shooting

At least four senior officials have resigned from the Department of Justice in protest over the Trump administration's response to the fatal shooting of a woman in Minneapolis by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer.

Three sources briefed on the departures told MS NOW that top leaders in the criminal section of the Civil Rights Division left their jobs to indicate their frustration that Harmeet Dhillon, the assistant attorney general for civil rights, decided not to investigate the ICE officer's killing of 37-year-old Renee Good.

The problem is that as the last of the competent ones resign, TrumpCo. just scrapes the bottom of the barrel just a little bot more to find even worse people to fill the offices.

It could take decades to ever undo the damage.

Anmd this is Halligan refusing to accept she has been removed.

This is TrumpCo. doubling down and making it clear they will not obey the law and are instead, just creating a rogue judiciary governed only by Diktat from the Fuhrer.

This ends with lawyers getting disbarred. They have to learn a lesson- you don't defy a judge without losing the privilege of appearing before them in a court of law.

She previously appeared in court making sighing noises, rolling her eyes and acting annoyed that she was expected to behave like a member of the bar. She's likely to get pulled into the courtroom and have her ass handled to her.

No reputable lawyer is going to defend her. They don't want to piss off judges that they are going to have to appear in front of in the future. These judges will be on the bench long after Ms Halligan is just a question in a Trivial Pursuit game.

In the past, when there was a pro-Democracy movement in another country, the Voice of America would be broadcasting encouragement and messages of support from the democracies of the west. Those broadcasts were offered in English and also in the local languages of the countries where they broadcast.

The dismantling of VOA has been on Putin's wishlist for some time. It must be a coincidence that Trump targeted VOA within weeks of entering office.

Thanks to this grifter, the Voice of America has been silenced when the people of Iran need to be hearing that voice.

On March 15, Trump had ordered the United States Agency for Global Media (opens in a new tab), which oversees Voice of America and was established to push back against censorship and disinformation worldwide, to shut down VOA’s programming in all 49 of its broadcast languages, including Persian. Thus, Trump crippled a key pillar of U.S. soft power.

Tick tock, ICE Barbie...

Scoop: Over 50 House Dems sign onto Kristi Noem impeachment articles

Why it matters: That is roughly a quarter of the House Democratic caucus — a far cry from the party's out-of-hand dismissal of every other impeachment effort that has cropped up thus far during Trump's second term.
  • Reps. Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.), Al Green (D-Texas) and Haley Stevens (D-Mich.) were all derided by colleagues for their efforts to impeach Trump or his Cabinet officials and garnered little support.
  • But this push by Rep. Robin Kelly (D-Ill.), a member of Democratic leadership, is riding a tsunami of anti-Noem sentiment within the caucus sparked by the shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis last week.
By the numbers: A total of 53 House Democrats signed on to the bill by the Tuesday afternoon co-sponsorship deadline, according from a list obtained by Axios.

One of the amazing things about the current incarnation of what used to be the Republican Party is that they have found such a large number of amoral alcoholic women to run for political office or to nominate for positions in the Trump Administration.

Labor secretary’s top staffers placed on leave amid misconduct investigation

Two of Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer’s top staffers have reportedly been placed on leave amid an internal investigation into allegations that taxpayers footed the bill for personal trips with family and friends.

Chavez-DeRemer’s chief of staff, Jihun Han, and his deputy, Rebecca Wright, were named in a complaint to the Department of Labor’s (DOL) Office of Inspector General, which also accused the secretary, who is married, of having an affair with a subordinate and drinking on the job, according to the New York Post and Politico.

The Labor secretary, a former Oregon congresswoman, has traveled to 36 states since last March after setting the goal of visiting all 50 states during her first year in the Trump administration, Politico reported.

The alcoholic US Attorney for the District of Columbia lost another case.

In Sept, a homeless man with mental illness pointed a laser cat toy at Trump's helicopter. Instead of getting the man into the mental health system, Jeanine Pirro felt it necessary to spend hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to prosecute the man.

In this instance, the jury only deliberated for 35 minutes before returning a "not guilty" verdict.

Man charged with pointing laser at Trump's Marine One found not guilty

Gardner and Akpan said the jury's verdict "underscores what should have been obvious from the start: Mr. Winkler committed no crime, and this prosecution was an unjust exercise of power."

“Federal resources were expended to pursue charges against a homeless man whose alleged 'weapon' was a cat toy keychain, diverting attention from actual threats facing the community," the statement said.

Oh, man. Judge Novak ripped Halligan a new asshole. He said that her response to the Court and her excuses for why she continues to claim to be a US Attorney, "..contains a level of vitriol more appropriate for a cable news talk show".

The rest of Novak's order:
No matter all of her machinations, Ms. Halligan has no legal basis to represent to this Court that she holds the position. And any such representation going forward can only be described as a false statement made in direct defiance of valid court orders. In short, this charade of Ms. Halligan masquerading as the United States Attorney for this District in direct defiance of binding court orders must come to an end.

Novak is a Trump appointee.

Meanwhile... if you know anyone who wants to be the US Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, they're hiring:
Trump’s Beauty Queen Loses Grip as Job Opens to Applicants

Lindsey Halligan’s fall just got deeper: the job she insists she still holds is now openly recruiting her replacement.

Two months after a judge ruled that President Donald Trump’s pick for U.S. attorney was illegally serving in the role, Halligan continues to cling to the Eastern District of Virginia’s top prosecutorial job...

Chief Judge M. Hannah Lauck, an Obama-appointee, declared the position “vacant” in her order, which said the court was “soliciting expressions of interest” from attorneys. The application deadline is listed as Feb. 10, 2026.

Halligan's own staff are planting their own daggers in her back.

Bye, gurl.

More details on David Novak, the judge who issued the order yesterday: he was previously the head of the criminal division of the Eastern District of Virginia DOJ office- the same office that Halligan has been playing US Attorney dress-up in.

Meanwhile, over in Washington, Blondi was given a piece of information that she undoubtably didn't know: if the judges in the Eastern District hired their own US Attorney, Blondi couldn't fire the US Attorney. So, Blondi threw in the towel and issued a statement blaming the Democrats.

So, Lindsey resigned from the position that she actually never held. No word on whether she has to pay back the salary or not.

Bondi announces departure of Halligan from US Attorneys office

Attorney General Pam Bondi on Tuesday announced that Lindsey Halligan, the top prosecutor in the Eastern District of Virginia, has departed her position, citing Senate Democrats “making it impossible” for her to continue past her 120-day appointment deadline.

“During her 120-day tenure as Interim United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, Lindsey Halligan served with the utmost distinction and an unwavering commitment to the rule of law,” Bondi said in a statement posted on the social platform X.

Bondi accused Senate Democrats of weaponizing the “blue slip process, making it impossible for Lindsey’s term as United States Attorney to continue following the expiration of her 120-day appointment.”

Lindsey Halligan leaves DOJ as judge calls her use of title 'charade'

Lindsey Halligan has left the Department of Justice after a federal judge threatened disciplinary actions against the controversial U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Jan. 20.

Halligan, a former personal lawyer to President Donald Trump, was the prosecutor who brought charges against Former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James last year.

Those cases were dismissed in November 2025 after a U.S. district judge ruled Halligan was not lawfully chosen to head the office for the Eastern District of Virginia. The Department of Justice has appealed the dismissals.

Well at least that is one farce brought to a close.

And will hopefully have an impact on other districts that may have had faux prosecutors implanted by TrumpCo.

Once again, the judiciary are the only guard rails apparently left to curb TrumpCo's attempt to use the courts to persecute his 'enemies'.

Ka$h Patel is back in the news. He's got a social media addiction.

The New York Times reported on Ka$h's recent trip to a Five Eyes conference in the UK. Ka$h brought his singer girlfriend. He was more interested in getting social media pictures and doing touristy trips than he was about attending the conference which is a meeting between the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand intelligence professions to foster information sharing between the countries.

FBI Director Kash Patel's staff seems focused on making sure President Donald Trump's nominee has plenty of fun while traveling at taxpayer expense.

The 45-year-old Patel traveled to Britain in May for a secret conference of the Five Eyes intelligence alliance formed after World War II among the U.S., the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Current and former FBI employees revealed to the New York Times requests by his staff that struck them as unusual...

"Before the conference, his staff says he’s unhappy because he doesn’t like meetings in office settings," that executive added.
What he wants is social events, he wants Premier soccer games. He wants to go jet skiing, he’d like a helicopter tour. Everyone who heard about this was like: Hold on. Is he really going to ask the MI5 director to go jet skiing instead of meeting? The schedule is set, and every Five Eyes partner is doing this. They can’t just say that he’s not participating and instead he wants to go to a Premier soccer game. This is a job, guys."

The executive was struck by how unserious Patel seemed to be about the duties of his job leading the nation's top federal investigative agency.

"His staff only cared about three things: what his meals were, when his workouts would be and what his entertainment would be," the executive said. "The biggest plan is how he’s going to get his girlfriend in there so she can go to Windsor Castle. He’s got Nicole Rucker as his assistant, like a true executive concierge, and when she’s not getting the food or the workout she wants, she’ll just start screaming at people, Make it happen!"

Meanwhile, some guy in Oklahoma was arrested for threatening to kill Ka$h and his singer girlfriend. He has such a hard life. :( The man, Jacob Hudson, posted social media posts saying that Ka$h was involved in the coverup of the Epstein files.
