There was a moment today where it came out that one of the "whistleblowers" has been accepting "donations" of support from Kash Patel.

This guy:

The same Kash Patel that used to be a Congressional staffer for former Rep Devin Nunes .

The same Kash Patel that Trump hired into the National Security Council and was promoted to Senior Director of the Counterterrorism Directorate by Trump where he was...

Wray has 2 more years on his term. The FBI Director position was given a 10 year limitation not only to prevent someone like J Edgar Hoover from getting into office, it also ensures that the position has a degree of independence from the White House.

The hearing for this one is going to be ugly. Since he has no relevant experience, it's another one that is likely to be doomed, especially since most Senators are happy with Chris Wray.

It will be a huge test of wills. And a test of whether Trump can impose his power over Congress.

I can't imagine that people in the Senate like Patel, but it is a threatening sign that Trump is pushing him forward for the post.
