Trump has decided that he is going to be unchained.

Obviously McMaster is next and then Kelly....or the other way around.

John Bolton has his filthy nose stuck up Trump's ass these days and probably will end up in the West Wing.

It is clear that Trump has figured out that the only way to rule is to get rid of anyone who seeks to check him on anything and to plunge into a never ending campaign that will allow him to get live televised coverage of his Nuremburg rallies for his knuckle dragging base all around the country over the next 6 months before the midterms.

The White House has fired Undersecretary of State Steve Goldstein for contradicting its official account of secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s firing after he told reporters that Tillerson was “unaware” of why President Trump fired him and only found out about it through the tweet.

And of Course Gina Haspel, the new head of the CIA is about as dirty as they come.

Her record as being not only involved in torture, but trying to destroy records of it should have meant that she should be invisible. Now she is the face of American Intelligence to the rest of the world.

Feinstein has blocked her career in the past because of her complicity with torture during the Bush administration. Haspel's hearing should be a doozy.

ICE spokesman resigns, citing fabrications by agency chief, Sessions about Calif. immigrant arrests [WaPo]

A spokesman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has resigned over what he described as “false” and “misleading” statements made by Attorney General Jeff Sessions and ICE acting director Thomas D. Homan.

James Schwab worked out of the agency’s San Francisco office until he abruptly quit last week...
“I quit because I didn’t want to perpetuate misleading facts,” Schwab told the San Francisco Chronicle. “I asked them to change the information. I told them that the information was wrong, they asked me to deflect, and I didn’t agree with that. Then I took some time and I quit.”

The Mexican government, meanwhile, announced that it had given its consent to Trump’s yet-to-be unveiled choice to fill her position...
She was confirmed in April 2016. As a former assistant secretary of state for Western Hemisphere affairs, Jacobson played a major role in the Cuba-U.S. rapprochement...

Ambassador Jacobson had 31 years of experience in the State Department. Jared Kushner, he who lacks security clearance, has in Mexico for meetings with Mexican government officials and did not include the Ambassador in those meetings.

U.S. Forest Service Chief Resigns Amid Sexual Harassment Accusations [NPR]

Tony Tooke, the head of the U.S. Forest Service, resigned on Wednesday following accusations of sexual harassment.

The resignation was effective immediately, and came days after PBS NewsHour reported that the U.S. Agriculture Department was investigating sexual misconduct complaints against him.

The NewsHour report revealed a widespread culture of sexual harassment and assault within the agency, and retaliation against those who reported it.

Trump fires Steve Goldstein, a top Tillerson deputy, in State Department shake-up [CBS]

The White House has fired State Department Under Secretary Steve Goldstein just hours after his boss, now-former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, was let go Wednesday morning...
"The Secretary had every intention of staying because of the critical progress made in national security," Goldstein said in a statement before his own dismissal and after President Trump tweeted that Tillerson was being replaced as Secretary of State by Mike Pompeo, who had been serving as CIA director. "He will miss his colleagues at the Department of State and the foreign ministers he has worked with throughout the world. The secretary did not speak to the president and is unaware of the reason, but he is grateful for the opportunity to serve, and still believes strongly that public service is a noble calling."

NASA’s acting administrator to retire without a clear successor [WaPo]

Robert M. Lightfoot Jr., who has served as acting administrator at NASA for more than a year, said Monday that he will retire from his position in April. No immediate announcement was made on who will follow him.

In an agencywide memo, Lightfoot wrote that he had “bittersweet feelings” about the decision. He also said he will “work with the White House on a smooth transition to the new administrator.”

NASA has been without a permanent administrator since Charles Bolden, a former astronaut and retired Marine Corps aviator, resigned the day that President Trump took office last year. The second-in-command, deputy administrator Dava Newman, also left the agency as Trump was inaugurated. In stepped Lightfoot, who had held NASA's highest-ranking non-appointee position.

I guess no one told her that Trump's mother, Mary Anne MacLeod Trump, was born in the UK. And that she didn't get U.S. citizenship in the US until she had been in the U.S. for over a decade?

That was exactly my question. It doesn't get much WASPier than LDS. Nor was in uncommon for missionaries to have their children in foreign countires.

But let's pause for a moment and remember that this is a Trump campaign surrogate which a) means their intellect is a limited resource and b) they have issues with logical constructs.
