Hear ye! Hear ye!
His temperament has been off the charts bad, his appointments have been awful, his relationships with our allies has been tense have been contentious. He's a sociopath given the keys to the nuclear codes. I didn't think it would go well and nothing that has happened has given me reason to think otherwise. What has me really going is that still, about 35-40% of the electorate think he's doing a decent/good job because the economy looks to be doing okay and he gives every indication of wanting to run again. If Mueller has something on him, it's likely he won't be indicted while in office and will have to be impeached. He's been making delusional statements(par for the course with Trump, alas) regarding his achievements and stature and what would happen if the DEmocrats dared try to impeach him. Democrats look like they will be able to open the impeachment process by getting control of the House if that option plays out(and even that's not a lock, and Democrats have to work to make sure they get out the vote if the Republican base starts to rally around Trump and the GOP to stop impeachment and not take ANYTHING for granted). However you can only remove an impeached President with 67 votes in the Senate, and the Dems even if they somehow flip enough to get 51 seats(not considered likely going on current trends... getting 18 or so Republicans to vote Trump out would be difficult. I just don't see how this ends without a lot of really bad crap going on. Democrats win in 2018 the House back... or even win the White House back in 2020(again, no given even with Trump's lack of popularity)and maybe the Senate in 2020 … I just see tremendous conservative pushback that would threaten any real victory for Democrats and the chance to reverse the damage Trump's election unleashed. The Supreme Court appears lost, until Alito and Thomas leave(and that might not be for another ten years) and the lower courts have had a considerable Trumpian makeover.

Even Trump leaving somehow, so much has happened in legitimizing the faux populist right wing politics of demagoguery and resentment Trump tapped into that his base will survive his administration, and have their tentacles ready to latch onto another Sith Lord to serve. He didn't create it, the cynicism of the GOP going on since Nixon's Southern strategy which welcomed racist Southern Democrats and fashioning them into the base of the modern GOP did... he merely manipulated and exploited it to full effect. With the corparatist masters and their useful idiots known as the religious base, the Tea Party base, and the economic/white nationalist base... we have a GOP which has taken full leave of their senses and turned its back on the interests of the poor, working class and middle class and frankly has no interest in making America great in the noblest sense.

I was glum then, I'm not much more chipper today.

I fear he has set up the cards to allow Palin's return in some way, and she is more canny now if not any wiser.

A less obvious cretin might do even more damage.

Woe. Lackaday.

The thing with family businesses is that you have to have family to run them... even if that family business is a criminal enterprise. If all of your heir apparents are in Federal prison, you might have to resign to "spend more time with family [business]".

You won't see Gov Palin back in politics. She bailed from the Alaska governorship because the salary couldn't support her expensive lifestyle. I suspect the same is true of the Presidency, especially since the President has to pay for the costs of family expenses- including meals and clothing, etc- even though he/she lives in government housing. Punditry and public-speaking pay better.

Why do I suspect that the Trump 2020 campaign is going to rehire him?

Jason Miller, Former Trump Aide Leaves CNN After Ex Claims He Gave Woman ‘Abortion Pill’
Jason Miller, a former senior adviser to Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, is leaving his post as a political commentator for CNN after reports surfaced that a woman is claiming he dosed her with an abortion pill without her consent.

The woman’s accusation was included in a new court filing linked to a child custody battle between Miller and his former lover A.J. Delgado, who also worked on Trump’s campaign, according to a Splinter News report published Friday.

If all this is found to be true, he needs to be locked up for murder and attempted murder.

Scoop: Trump has accepted Nikki Haley's resignation [Axios]

President Trump has accepted Nikki Haley’s resignation as UN Ambassador, the two said Tuesday morning in a public Oval Office meeting. She will exit at the end of the year, Trump said.

What we're hearing: Haley discussed her resignation with Trump last week when she visited him at the White House, two sources said. Her news shocked a number of senior foreign policy officials in the Trump administration.

Former Trump aide Hope Hicks joins Fox as head of PR [CNN]
Hope Hicks, previously one of President Trump's closest aides, is becoming a key executive at Fox News Channel's parent company.
Monday's announcement inspired lots of quips about the revolving door between the Trump White House and the Murdoch media empire. Fox News co-president Bill Shine joined the White House communications team over the summer.

But this move is actually a big change for Hicks. As White House communications director, she assisted the president, set up interviews and channeled his views.

Now she is joining FOX as executive vice president and chief communications officer, which means she will run public relations and other aspects of the TV company.

^ Unbelievable. Totally and undeniably.

A ray of sunshine at the end with the comment that Ivanka laughed at the idea.

The sad part is that is that it's difficult to determine whether these "Send Ivanka" stories are coming from Ivanka's PR operation or from her enemies.

A bit off-topic, but what's with Trump's 'other' son? (I don't even remember his name.) Is he something of a black sheep in the family?

Barron? Or Eric? Or Tiffany? :)

Or the one that the National Enquirer paid off the doorman to kill the story about?

P.S. This stuff is like a Mexican telenovela.

Eric. Why don't we hear about or from him?

Barron is innocent in all this and the sooner his mother gets him away from his father, the better for him.

There's a Tiffany?

Eric is supposedly running the company. Unfortunately, he's also been known to run his mouth and reveal things that's he's not supposed to reveal. He's a dull knife in a drawer full of dull knives, poor thing.

He's innocent... so far. They all seem to join the La Cosa Nostra Trump eventually. The money and the power are just too tempting.

But hopefully, he's able to enjoy his teenage years and doesn't end up in prison like the rest of them probably will.

There's a Tiffany?
That's okay. I'm not sure Trump knows there's a Tiffany, either.
